I hope these types of games continue to gain popularity. The more average people move away from 50+ million dollar AAA games, and move more towards the indie market, the more power AAA game companies will continue to lose. It is funny to me thinking how once we got to ultra-realistic graphics in games, gamers then turned around and walked back the way they came. Back to PS2 and PS1 style games.

Agreed, the graphics are great nowadays but they've forgotten how to tell a story and keep you engaged. Its all about sell sell sell even games that do well it wasn't a billion dollars worth so they shut that ish down and push out their next "great idea"

Completely hooked on this game. Its very much like Gothic, but the combat feels like a bit of Hades and a bit of Souls. Fantastic exploration, dangers everywhere, secrets to uncover, and so many ways to complete quests. Start as a nobody who can barely fight a mangy dog and, by the end of it, become a God of the battlefield. Learning Points is something Piranhabytes games utilized, as well as extensive crafting, and you can feel the love of Gothic throughout it, even references in the community over the years. Masterpiece, GOTY.

Been playing this definitely has pirahna bytes vibes, especially some of the music and progression, I wasn't expecting much but i was pleasantly surprised and spent alot of time on it so far. Wish there was more games in this vein.

Eh, to each their own. I have 400+ hours in it, but I do think it gets marketed to the wrong crowd. "Souls-like" is a terrible misnomer. It's more about survival crafting and decision based storyline immersion with some (albeit goofy at first) combat in between. If you liked the idea but the execution bothered you, they are working on 2, gameplay videos suggest a much smoother combat system at least.
