Others have already mentioned the tiny cap attached to the BQ pin. It would at this point be worth checking resistance to ground on the 4 rails coming off the main max IC on the back, as well as at the R2R coil on the sys rail. From memory, if you have the usb facing you and black probe on ground you should get: top right 5k - 10k, top left fluctuates in 100k+, both on left 50 and bottom left 1k. Sys rail should be in meg ohms.

Thought I killed my £17 Switch lol Put a new battery in but something went wrong with the SD card reader which fried the SD card, bought a new reader and it popped on in and all working again, I even bought a brand new screw set off ebay to replace the missing external screws... such expense of £1.95 O.o

Hey joey, you should connect this switch to a pc with TegraRCM and see if its in RCM. If it is, then that could mean there is an issue with the NAND.

Its RCM mode or emmc memory fault. Try to press and hold down power button for about 15-20 seconds when connected to power meter and see whats the reading. If you are lucky hard reset will do a job.

Watch the small capacitor @12:09 - 12:14 disappear into a solder blob on one of the chips legs
@traveler44012 жыл бұрын
I'm no expert, but i think you should really remove that capacitor that got absorbed into one of the chip's pads at 12:11
@jesusyuca14832 жыл бұрын
He left it standing stuck on the pin of the chip. I got a chuckle from that. It shouldn’t be a problem though. However I don’t know if it was still there after the soldering iron.

I advise against cleaning all of the corroded spots all at once. Take your time and look to figure out the damage. Remember your previous case where the corrosion + evidence of heat pointed you to a short in the next layer below(p13 i think). That’s why it’s important to go slow and make sure those black spots(evidence of heat) didn’t damage the board. Also don’t trust your probes on corrosion. Just keep it in mind to be skeptical of the readings. I know not much can be done about that sometimes.
@jesusyuca14832 жыл бұрын
Just go back to the video and look at the corrosion dude. At least it is recorded. There are many critical spots you skimmed over. Btw 0.48A draw could be a short getting hot. Check with thermal camera.
@JoeyDoesTech2 жыл бұрын
Good advice here Jesus, thankyou.
@MicroMageRepair2 жыл бұрын
Possibly in RCM, try hooking it to your PC and see if it picks it up. If not maybe PI3USB. My guesses based on the current draw.

You did a great job in my opinion. It seems to be half alive but something is still quite off. I bet you get to the source of that.
@mrascensoreakakrisgames41492 жыл бұрын
Not sure but maybe there could have been something on the board like corrosion or even when you plugged in a charger in that old port with crossed pins wich shorted out the cpu, as I saw in some videos that when you have normal charging and no backlight it's the cpu that went to heaven

Have you ever had trouble with getting the launch Xbox One shell/casing on because for me I have an Xbox One that my mom dropped and everything is fine for it and it still works perfectly fine but the front bottom clips don’t connect properly and my disc won’t come out because the front case is not on properly and gets stuck. I never opened it before but I only took off the case so the warranty seal was destroyed but never opened and I did it in attempt to fix the front shell and take out my disc but failed on both and I am wondering if you could help me.
