The Mitsubishi 6.5 TME is the best car of all time hands down!
@phasehalide8 жыл бұрын
Love it, thank you for pointing out what a beautiful drivers car this is. You point out all the reasons why i love my lancer but mainly for the driving experience/feel compared. I have watched and lived through the evolution of Mitsubishi growing up in the 90s and respected every Evolution released mainly in that era. The Evolution is renowned as a historical rally car and i take pride in that. I have come to know the 6/6.5 chassis very well and i have two i take care of. Have done a lot of work to it in the 5 years i have had it spent so many nights weeks learning so many things working on it improving, i enjoy driving it every day. Yes the Red TME Edition and Gunmetal/Graphite A39 color codes are my favorites.

Great Video! I've had my Australian spec Makinen Edition for 14 years, bought brand new, just under 22,000km on the clock now. Never driven in the rain, absolute garage queen. I love this car so much. No car I have ever driven has put a smile on my face as the 6.5. As a point to point car... even 15 years on.. not a lot will come close! She's not refined a terrible amount, but one drive in a stock example (as mine is.. completely standard) you'll understand... thankyou for the vid! BTW.. love the kids faces in the back seat when you boosted hahahaha says it all!!!

Thanks Steve, wow, people in the UK would pay very strong money for a car like yours, there can't be more than a handful of original cars with that sort of mileage left. We'd love to see some videos about it when you get the chance. Enjoy!

I so wanted one of these but they are very rare now so ended up with an E46 M3. Watching this video is making me question that decision. Nice video.
@DrPittenstein9 жыл бұрын
Thanks. M3 is the better all rounder in standard form but the Evo is a rally icon, a bit more raw and can quickly surpass it with some mods. Tuning parts are very high quality, huge choice to suit different budgets and really transform the car into something really special and crazy fast. The only downside is you never get your money back on mods and it gets very addictive!
@supertouring229 жыл бұрын
+DrPittenstein i agree on mods, spent a fortune on my Scoob and saw none of it back, but what a car. no regrets. keeping m3 std.

Evo 6 is a very nice car. I was looking for a TME here in New Zealand but it’s almost impossible. Bought a standard Evo 6 and it’s amazing! Only 80,000kms on it, engine runs mint and it stock standard apart from the rims. Best weekend car I’ve driven. As for rally cars, I’m looking to grab a GT4 as well because why not have a good line up of cars to have fun with. Great video mate!

Thanks Miklos. I was thinking about selling, long story but have decided to keep it and forge the engine instead! I think there's a LHD one for sale, they are super-rare, but it is white. Same great car otherwise.

a focus rs - dad is the driver. any group a car - dad is the rally driver. going fast is all well and good, but there's satisfaction in the story that homologation created. I'm saving up for either one of these, a 3door Sierra cosworth or an integrale (if the weather was dependable). i couldn't care less for the new rs, its just a rapid (estate) car, id rather have an old rs4 estate.

great video! will you ever consider doing a video on the ford rs cosworths?
@DrPittenstein8 жыл бұрын
+eoin730 Yes I would love the opportunity to drive and film some Cossies again. I was the proud owner of a moonstone blue Saphire Cosworth (RWD) and also an Escort Cosworth. Such great cars. I might still have some video lying around but it wouldn't be good quality. The dream is still to drive an RS500, I never have but with values sky high I probably never will now. :(
@eoin7308 жыл бұрын
DrPittenstein old video of cars is worth its weight in gold so if you feel it you should upload it. Yep the RS500 is outer atmosphere with its current price!

Great tribute to our beloved car. On a different note, where did you get hold of the boot garnish lights all in red? I prefer those to the original ones which continue with reverse light...
@DrPittenstein8 жыл бұрын
+wisniorek Thanks! The full red garnish lights actually came with the car. They are the type with electrical connections for light bulbs in. The other more common type are just reflectors. Actually I just swapped them for some of the half red half silver ones. I might swap them back at some point as I agree they are quite nice.

Red ones have already shot up. £50+k for the best now. Black, blue, white and silver TME's still available for more attractive prices. Get it inspected first, underbody rust is a problem for cars used in the UK during the winter. They just get cooler looking every year though. Get one bought.

It's more of a "knowing" wave as we drive by one another... only Makinen Edition drivers understand lol
@theant98218 жыл бұрын
without homologation for motorsport, fast cars are just fast cars, the motorsport pedigree makes them special. I'm not interested any more, and won't be until homologation returns. like with ford, three focus have worn the rs uniform but the cosworth is the last to earn it's stripes.
@DrPittenstein8 жыл бұрын
Very much agree. Imagine the cars we'd have had from Citroen, Ford, VW and others in recent years if they'd been forced to make road versions? It would have been another generation of epic drivers cars.

why do autotrader reackon evo6 tme is 440bhp and 0-60 in 4.4? also your a shocking driver,sorry but you need to take it to a track mate.good vid tho
@lukekindred19998 жыл бұрын
The evo 6 tme is 280 bhp and 0-60 in 4.2
@michaelmcmike87268 жыл бұрын
Luke Kindred they also say the evo9 fq330 only does 0-60 in 4.7. why would they make a newer model with 50bhp more power/GO SLOWER????????????????????
@lukekindred19998 жыл бұрын
michael mcmike well, the fq330 does it in about the same time as the tme. The fq360 evo 9 does it in 3.9. You've got to take into account the weight
@michaelmcmike87268 жыл бұрын
so a evo 360 onnnlyjust beats the tme with almost a quarter more power? is that what your telling me...how much heavier could the evo9 be? prob got 8 refugees stowed away lol
@lukekindred19998 жыл бұрын
+michael mcmike probably has tbh 😁 the weight difference is because when the evo 7 was brought out, it used the cedia body which brought forward a lot of weight and size
