great video, but there is a notation in [M-H]+. Some people like to write [M+H]+ instead. In [M-H]+, the "-" is a bond. The reason is to avoid confusion in ESI for negative ion [M-H]-

Sir your vedio os quite informative, but i didn't get the point at last that the secondary ions are only allowed to react with the analyte but for the electrophillic addition reaction u had taken CH3+ but this was not the secondary ion... I hope u will solve my query soon thank you

may be I'm wrong but as far as I know molecules are less fragmented that's why we get more intensity molecular ions.

Thank you sir for sharing this informative video but i have a question. Is EI soft ionization technique? I have studied it as hard ionization technique. Please make it clear. Thank you
@LnPlayEng3 жыл бұрын
EI is a hard technique as it leads to fragmentation using the thermal energy of usually 70eV to bombard the analyte.

Suggestion: Write your channel URL on the board when people take screenshot they will know the source.
@pkclasses1006 жыл бұрын
That's very good suggestion, but main motive is to spread the knowledge. It doesn't matter from where it's coming. If people is taking screenshot then they must be knowing the source and if forwarding the same then they can mention the name of the channel if they wish to do so. Thank You. 👍

Sir if fragmentation is less then how more m plus ions is produced and explain the concept how it give high intense peak.
@sagnikbiswas0404 жыл бұрын
The initial ionization of the Analyte molecule still takes place regardless of the molecule undergoing fragmentation or not. M+. ions are the unfragmented-ionized molecular radicals. And as mentioned, CI would produce lesser number of fragments, the amount of M+. would be abundant, thus giving out an intense peak.
