Sir what's the difference between mass spectroscopy VS mass spectrometry
@pkclasses100 Жыл бұрын
Mass Spectrometry is the appropriate word. There is no difference in both.

Disadvantage of hard ionization is that it could result in fragmentation such that the molecular ion is completely missing.
@jadefang7914 жыл бұрын
that is its major disadvantage so need other ionization to get molecular ion

I really want to ask this .... If there is such a strong -ve charge on g4 and G5 then why M+ deflet toward the grid G5... And one more question is there and that is if this M+ is fregmanted into m+,m2+,M3+ then how is this possible that all the fregments get ionised only one can b in ion form and other should b in radical or simple molecule.. plz sir explain.. I reall need a help regarding this one

It happens in series of fragmentation pattern.. sample contains a lot of molecules. .. neutral molecule is ionized to molecular ion which may be stable or unstable depending upon the ionization technique we use. Suppose we use a soft ionization technique then most prominent species is molecular ion. But if we use hard ionization technique,it causes the molecular ion to be fragmented further.. depending upon what type of molecule is,i.e. Alkane alkene alcohol,ether, branched, unbranched. Different fragments Will be produced by all the molecules present in the sample..

Is the molecular ion are base peak in mass spectroscopy??
@pkclasses1006 жыл бұрын
No The peak having highest abundance is known as base peak. It may be molecular ion also or it may be other fragment also, depends upon ionization method and fragmentation pattern of the compound.
@sumitbarik62476 жыл бұрын
But there is a question and that is The base peak in mass spectroscopy is given by? A-Molecular ion B-most stable in C-Metastable ion D-daughter ion Then what is the answer sir??

@muafiamushtaq70803 жыл бұрын
@@sumitbarik6247 most stable ion.. as it base peaks means the peak of highest intensity in the spectrum. So, whatever the component is, whether it is molecular ion or fragment ion; the most stable one will give base peak
