This is the era when KISS was in their prime. What a time to be alive! I was 12 years old and KISS was my favorite band. It was such an exciting time. Me and my best friend would fantasize about being in the band. I was Peter Criss and he was Paul Stanley. Music back then was pure and raw.

I was too young to see them in their hey day. Saw them 96 reunion MSG. Best concert. I was 8 years old again having a Kiss concert in my bedroom. Mom walking in to put my laundry away just shaking her head. Love and miss you mom❤❤❤
@SndyOr13 күн бұрын
@@josephlinnell9855 I remember that head shake only I was 15 and my mom was sure I was on my way to hell. I didn’t get to see them live in their heyday either, but, like you, I saw them in 96. Best concert ever. I had tears running down my face when Peter took the stage and sang the song that started it all for me, BETH
@josephlinnell985513 күн бұрын
I had tears as well. What suprised me most was when they did 100,000 Years. Me my sister Jane who turned me on to them were both in our own world together. Very nice to meet and talk about a band that influenced me like no other
@SndyOr13 күн бұрын
@@josephlinnell9855 influenced me like no other for sure. Saved me from permanently checking out. Also the concert I went to was the Destroyer tour brought back. They played the same songs, used the same equipment and even used or recreated the stage and the costumes . They also included songs from other albums though. Funny that in 2024, I discovered a Romanian band called Carla’s Dreams and they wear makeup. The songs they sing are much like that of Kiss. They have 8 songs in English and the rest are in Romanian. I was just as captivated by them as I was Kiss and still am. Music is a universal language. I look up the lyrics so I know what the songs are about. Btw, I lived,ate and breathed Kiss. Was disappointed after Peter and Ace left. I quit Kiss after that departure. I love the ORIGINAL line up and listen to the Old KISS all the time. It’s nice to know they were Everything to so many people.My videos and playlists are public on my channel. Feel free to drop in.

@Shawn- Bubble still intact. I've always known alot the tracks were dubbed except for Peter who had the only live tracks on the album. Regardless of the over dubs, it still captures the "live sound" and everyone followed with the formula in the 70's after KISS. Eddie Kramer produced the ultimate KISS sound which was used in Rock n Roll Over, for me it's the only studio album with the true KISS sound. Tracks were recorded live on a sound stage, except for Peter recording off stage somewhere, and the rest dubbed for the final mix in the studio, just like Alive.

Agreed with comments here: This is the quintessential KISS. They were a very tight and talented band. Their makeup and stage theatrics were something that people either "got" or simply did not "get it". If they didn't "get it" they dismissed the band as not being talented musicians. But they were very talented. Those of us who "got it" with KISS understood that the makeup, stage theatrics etc were all part of an entire package. KISS didn't want to just play music. They wanted their fans to be entertained in every possible way. And they made sure it was high energy. This video is great. Such a great entertaining band.

Saw them at the Philly Spectrum doing that tour, they were great. '77 or '78. I've met Ace a couple times, walked the streets of East Village NYC with him while drinking beers and a couple years later he was at The Whisky in LA when my band played there with Zakk Wylde. But KISS was great. One fun band for sure and always loved Aces playing.

@@bigdaddydaddy3203 yes I also saw the Alice Cooper Killer Show at the Spectrum Jan '72, his Billion Dollar Babies show in March '73, Welcome to my Nightmare show in '75, all at the Spectrum. That venue used to be a crazy place way back then! Alcohol wasn't sold there so all the kids would show up shit faced and stoned. Fights, drugs in the bathrooms. There was a stabbing there. Drunk people on the second tier barfing on the people down below. It could a nut house in the 70's!

This was awesome. Live at the Budokan in 1977 or 78. I first and only time I saw Kiss in 2019, End of the Road Tour. Only wished I had seen them in their hay days. I hope there are many more uploads will come out soon during their prime. I was 14 when I got their first album, Dressed to Kill, and it is on the Blue Casablanca label and I still have it . A rare record. Most of the Casablanca labels are tan. Now, I'm in my 60's and I still listen to them. Thanks for the Rockin' memories.

Joey P I believe the first 5 Kiss albums were all classics. Just my opinion. Take care and peace. That duel guitar solo in "Detoit Rock City" is still one of my favorite Kiss solos. There are probably better ones, but that one has always stuck out to me and I never fail to play the "Air Guitar" whenever that comes on.

I would say the first 6 studio albums "(Love Gun" was their last studio album where all four played), of course Alive! and Ailve II... but I agree on "Detroit Rock City"

Nah, ALIVE, then Destroyer, then Love Gun.
@JoeyP3222 ай бұрын
@@JeffKopis “Alive!” was a great album, but it wasn’t a studio album per se. “Sweet Pain” and “Great Expectations” ruined Destroyer for me. I think “Love Gun” was better than “Destroyer” but in my opinion there’s not one bad song on RARO and it’s recorded better except the drums sounded weak. If RARO was recorded like “Dressed to Kill” that would be the ultimate album.

WOW!! this should have been released for sure. they were SO tight at this point. you can tell there virtually no over dubs on this as there were on ALIVE 1. they matured so much since that album and learned to keep the stage energy and the show rolling but to stay ON MIC and not sacrifice your vocal or guitar part for a swinging crotch pose. love the song choices. i am so glad my generation had these bands. hopefully some anti kiss folks out there can see how GREAT they were in their prime.

Though i wasn't into the studio songs on that lp. They were ok but nothing compared to the live stuff. I love alive 2. So much power and raw energy. Bombastic, over the top, amazing sound!
