DRS Carlisle Kingmoor Depot - TIME WARP to the past! A Depot DOMINATED by Class 37 TRACTORS..!

Views like this are few and very far between nowadays.. A traction maintenance depot dominated by class 37's! Albeit only 5 but still great to see with these tractors being the majority of the locos onsite with a single class 66's and 88’s for company. This view is now not likely to last long with DRS looking to sell-off the class 37s soon.
Stabled on the southern side of the depot are 37402, 37407 and 37558.
On the northern side - 37419 and 37425 having recently returned from York Thrall and RHTT duties - Both in need of a wash!
Whilst not the busiest of recent depot flyovers - This one was definitely one of the most enjoyable to capture!

Just loving these depot and yard flyovers . Kingmoor seems to be a very tidy looking depot , no junk lying about and even the locos seem to be parked in a tidy fashion compared to some of the flyovers. Keep up the excellent work, most enjoyable. Thanks.

I remember as a schoolkid living not too far away in Carlisle, I could always hear at least one class 40 idling away in the Kingmoor marshalling yard, not much of that left now!

The depot is impressive, even more from the air. Never seen it so quiet. Been round the depot several times, open days and hope to attend next year.

Sad to hear DRS want to sell the 37s. I have fond memories of travelling the Cumbrian coast line on them. In fact one of the exact locos 37402 is in this video, got a video of her trashing

Incredible to think that Kingmoor depot closed in 1988, but was brought back into use by DRS 10 years later

407 and 424 have had money spent on them - not sure what the future is.
