Homeless man checking in. I have a great job, and don't take any government benefits. The problem where I live is good old hyper inflation on housing and realestate. Renting a studio apartment starts around $2k+, if you can even find one. Most people I know still live with their parents well into their 40's because the only other feasible option is to rent a spare bedroom from a stranger for $1,500+ a month. We have several shelters for women in my town (all of which empty pretty much always) the only place for men is over an hour away. I currently live at a campground, it's really not all that bad though, it's pretty peaceful out here.

Are you saying that businesses should take in more, and thus prioritise, male secretaries, waiters, school teachers, nurses and other jobs that women make up a majority in? Even if that means choosing a less qualified man over a more qualified woman? Are you also saying that businesses and the government should prioritise female soldiers, police officers, engineers, scientists, construction workers and other jobs that men make up a a majority in? Even if that means choosing a less qualified woman over a more qualified man? Or are you only arguing that this should disadvantage women? Because this will only create more homeless people. At times we were overloaded with clothes for women, despite the majority of service users being male. growing up i was taught that you either didn't cry, didn't get help, and helped others, you were considered more logical of a partner, and you were more likely to land successful jobs. if you did cry, didn't bottle up your emotions, didn't keep shit to yourself when it came to a woman and laid a hand on a woman when she hits and abuses first, is baby shit and the man should man up. can we please start telling the females to do the same? maybe we can be equal in suffering once that happens.

Societal pressure that tells boys from a young age to bottle up their emotions, hide vulnerabilities and to just “man up” is toxic masculinity that feminists have been trying to fight for ages

"Why is it that even Charities and advocacy groups have less sympathy for male victims." In short; because we live in a gynocentric society. The unfortunate truth is that men have societal disadvantages by default. As men, we have to 'man up' and act in a particular way to complement the women we have in our lives. And to that I say this; recognize what these parts of society's expectations which are built on its model of focusing upon women & what society expects from you because its the best for you. Once you've done that, do what you think you need to do.

Telling us men to “man up” is called toxic masculinity, something feminists have always been openly apposed to. This damaging idea that men have to be always be resilient and strong, without vulnerability, sensitivity and with our emotions kept bottled up, is a conservative ideology, and isn’t the fault of women.
