Omg, so helpful - it's been very confusing navigating which of the Ordinary's retinoid products is the strongest and provides the most benefits. Other channels claim that the granactive 2 and 5% are stronger than the 1% retinol in squalene, so this just cleared things up!

Great video! I am using Differin (which has retinol as well) to treat my acne 4 times a week on average. Could I still use Retinol in Squalane, even if it was once a week maybe or not at all? Thank you!
@andreao8535Ай бұрын
Thank you Dr. This was a very informative video. I just purchased Granactive 2% in Emulsion and, although I have dry skin (especially during cold, winter season), it looks like my skin prefers it over retinol in squalane. I have tried that one last year and threw away after a month of use because it broke me out and made my skin very restless, although the concentration was matched (retinol was 0.2%). After I finish with using this one (expiration date is 3 months from opening a serum), I'll most likely switch to G&G A-game or, if I end up seeing major improvements with this one, do another round of Granactive 2%. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

Dr. Thank you so much for this most helpful information! I have DRY skin and the only way I’ve been able to use a retinol is in Squalene. I’ve been using .05% in Squalene 4 times a week for almost a year. The results have been remarkable, but I could use some improvement. I am going to purchase the 1% in Squalene upon your recommendation.

Hey, I have been using the ordinary Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion for about 6 months now and I started having breakouts again. Should I go to the Granactive Retinoid 5% in Squalane? I have EXTREMELY oily skin and get absolutely no irritation from my current retinoid

I have dry skin so I'm sticking with the anhydrous ones at all costs. For now, every third day I use 3 drops the 0.5% in squalane AFTER already using 4 drops of their regular 100% plant derived squalane (I use a jade roller to save product but without one, I used to use a hefty 7 drops of regular squalane everyday and then whatever retinol on top to really prevent dryness)

R u serious? If it changed colour I think it's best u stop using it. Blue? Do u think u may have purchased fake, or contaminated or expired product? Hope it did not ruin ur skin in anyway.

Thank you so much. I m using granactive retinol 2% for 2 yrs now n i changed to Retinol 0.5 in Squalene Serum for just 2 day and i got acne on my chin area and ichy skin. Stopped using it. So i should use 0.2 for start?

I've been using the granactive 2 % for a few months, and will now be moving up to the 5 %. I'm still not sure that I'm applying it correctly, though. Is it OK to use it under the eyes, where I have quite a few fines lines? (Being very careful not to get it into the eyes, of course.)

The ordinary sales person told me 1% is misleading because it is really only 0.3% , as in europe the regulations for over the counter is 0.3% maximum
@Drsomjiskin9 ай бұрын
Concentrations are generally misleading as it’s dependent on the volume of the product

I jumped straight to the 1% and have no side effects, redness or iritation. Is this normal?
@littlekiwi5244 ай бұрын
Not common, but it's all about listening to your own skin. If you notice side effects, you'd need to get something weaker or use it less often until you get used to it again.

Dr. Nipun Kapur, a skincare consultant posted a video where she suggested shifting from 0.5% retinol to Granactive 2%. Would that make any sense? Should a 0.5% retinol in squalene user switch to 1% retinol or 5% granactive one? I’m confused!
@QaisBhatt2508 ай бұрын
Absolutely right, I've also watched that video, it's so confusing, but this video kinda makes some sense, I m currently on granactive 2% and looking to move to retinol 0.5, since granactive retinoid didn't give me that results..
@simplica18 ай бұрын
I believe here he said that 0.2 retinol =2% granactive retinoid and 0.5 retinol = 5% granactive. This means that 1%retinol is the highest in concentration.
@sanamushtaq45068 ай бұрын
@@simplica1 yes, he meant just that but Dr. Nipun Kapur suggesting shifting from 0.5 Retinol to granactive 2%. That wouldn’t make sense right?
