The narrative is always different when it comes to Arsenal. When arsenal first Challenged for the title two seasons ago. Rival fan bases made sure to heap loads of pressure onto Arsenal fans from pretty much game week 8 to outrighlty say that we're in a title race and that we would definitely go all the way and win the league. Bare in mind it was the youngest squad in the prem at the time and we was clearly over achieving after finishing 5 the season before. Now, when other teams are in a race for the title, they dont want the pressure of claiming they can win the league. It's always different rules, different perspectives, different takes and different officiating when it comes to Arsenal.

The differences is that Arsenal where actually at the top of the table for 93% of the season eight points clear at one point. Chelsea were at any point first. So it’s not the same.

But the point was at the early stages of the season, the pressure was on us straight away even amongst mainstream and legacy media. I want to make it clear that I'm not complaining about it as we should welcome the pressure, but the energy should be the same for any "Top 6" club. Arsenal's squad was the youngest in the league at that time, and if we had won it that year, it would have been one of the best Premier league wins in history. Arteta would have been the youngest manager to win it with one of the youngest squad ever to win it after finishing 5th the season before where most people predicted us to finish out of the top 6. So realistically without all the tribalism it should have been okay for Arsenal fans to highlight that we really was overachieving and really one or two injuries would derailed us which in the end it did end up.derailing us when going up against a full strength city. Injuries to Jesus, Partey, Tomiyasu and zinchencko throughout the season and Saliba and Tomiyasu in the last 11/12 games of the season derailed our season and we didnt have nearly the same squad depth as we do now; but when we pointes that put as fans we were called everything under the sun. So yes we overachieved that year and made it our new standard the next season. While Chelsea have spent over 1Billion in that time and have zero expectations apparently.
