I dont believe in making excuses for dads! Many of us mothers go through the same exact struggles and we don't abandon our children.

Single mom of three boys never married never had a long term healthy relationship . I'm poor I don't get child support. Nobody really understands my situation and I NEED videos like this thank you. Been isolated in an RV for two years due to poverty and covid. They never had a male role model ...ever. No family around us. I'm very confident and tell them we are what we are and I'm happy with that and there's nothing wrong with us but my 14 year old DOES think we are crappy compared to the world . the dad's have never been there but they met a few times but there is no bonds there and it's safer this way.

The math thing is what I told my kids that we accept that turnips cannot be tomatoes ...that doesn't mean a turnip is bad and it's not my fault I don't have relationships but still fought to have kids because I wanted them :) it's not the dad's don't want them they just aren't dads

Praying for your success and endurance needed to be a single parent. I was poor I had to believe that I need to do what I need to do to make my kids life better. Ex. Going to school, more than 1 job, career mentoring, personal mentoring, faith mentoring. See if there are free job resources career resources in your state. My state had funds for certificates in specific areas of study. I wish you and your kids the best.

@luckyc3367 жыл бұрын
La'Cresha Lee I could be wrong here but I truly believe that if we can't take care of ourselves we can't take care of our children so sometimes you have to put yourself first as long as it doesn't come to the point of neglecting your children

Thank you so much for this...As I continued the work in progress of bettering myself, unfortunately the collateral damage became my relationship with my STBXh/sons father...There's an order in place prohibiting contact on both sides for safety reasons so at this point all I can do is pray that he does what he needs to do to see his son...his reasons are exactly what you speak of...please keep doing what you're doing...I got so much encouragement from your video as I experienced feelings of sadness recently realizing that as more time goes by it seems that this will be my unintended situation...when you said that we CAN raise a man, it's all about our attitude, that was HUGE for me...with God first and support and self-care, I now feel prepared...May God bless you mightily...

I appreciate your intro. I am a single Mom from divorce after 10 years of marriage. I never kept my sons from their father but he decided to leave the country in 6 weeks. Packed two suitcases and has been gone for a year. Hardly FaceTime our sons. He is contributing financially because I had to go through the courts unfortunately. People feel bad for me and act like my sons are going to fail at life. That is not an option for them in my eyes. I will do all I can to help them be healthy, Goal driven, loved, intelligent, teach them to make conscious decisions in life, experience being supported by their tribe and be a supporter of their tribe, know their presence in my life and our families life are valued. I communicate with them when I am in a space were I’m not fully emotionally available and I need a minute so that I won’t be short tempered with them… I call it personal time lol I’m starting my art business and they see me working and developing myself. Every day after school, we do homework together and read together. I have many discussions about life with them. I support anything they do. I brought my sons to college campus that we drive by many times and when we took a walk through the campus… and I talked about how the extra studying is to help him get to a higher level like college… it increased his desire to learn. It’s a hard job to be a single Mom but to see their happiness and how much they try… heaven on earth!
