I have a single mother neighbor with a young boy. The boy often comes over to talk, maybe he has nothing to do. So I teach him to learn some skills, household repairs, change tires, fix stuff, simple repairs, you know the things we do with our dads. He seems interested in it. But I speak straight to him, tell him how it is. I'm single and don't really plan on getting married yet, but I do enjoy being a role model. I learned some things too.

Much needed advice. I had my son when I was young (no excuse) but I got so caught up in trying to provide that I wasn’t implementing discipline like I should have been but I’m now correcting it. It’s a bit of a challenge but I’m not giving up! Thanks Rick

I love the tips Rickey. My mom & dad raised me the disciplined way, & I raised my kids the same. I was a single parent because their father wanted to cheat. No time for that, so with Gods Grace & Mercy, I made sure they were raised right & graduated. Whatever I cooked we ate based on foods they liked, I cooked. One evening my kids wanted biscuits, eggs & bacon. Then the next day they wanted pancakes with Eckrich sausage. I cooked from scratch for them because that's how I was taught. My kids never threw tantrums, oh No. My kids are well mannered & respectful even though their older now, because that's the legacy my parents & grandparents taught me. My daughter & 2 boy's were taught the same. I could take them over anybody's house, & I was always complemented on how well behaved the were. To this day, they still are & my twin grandsons who graduate this year have been taught the same👍

You are telling the truth. What I cooked is what you eat. The structure is real in raising children.

Thanks mr.smiley I recently got into it with a family member over this who's kid is now acting exactly how you described... Boy caught an whole attitude w/ his coach and was so mad he did bad the rest of the swim meet. Told his mom you can't be mad when Everytime someone tries to discipline him, you defend him.... Alot of new age parents are convinced CHECKIN your child is ABUSE..

Whether you agree or disagree with me as long as you are tolerant. I believe we as a society especially us men, should teach boys of the next generation to behave like gentlemen. I honestly believe that gentlemen are the best men in the world because they do not behave like bullies and they also do not behave like whiners. Gentlemen are balanced men plus they are compassionate, discipline, and responsible. They are well-mannered and they show empathy for boys, girls, men, & women. They are like father figures plus they protect children both boys & girls from indoctrination, they respect disabled people, they aid elderly people, they listen to men with their emotional pain, and they are polite towards women by respecting their privacy.
