Thank you for this information I had two sentinel nodes removed and thank goodness both were clear so no radiation was required as I had a mastectomy.

Hi, can you get a SNB after a mastectomy has already been done? My moms final pathology report showed a 9mm invasive cancer that they didn’t see on imagine before surgery so no lymph nodes were taken out on that side since they didn’t know there was a tumor. Now I’m so scared that the cancer spread to the lymph nodes and we just don’t know about it 😢

Yes they should still be able to take a few nodes from the armpit.

Hello Dr. Can I practice Martial Arts after this surgery?
@drtashag4 ай бұрын
As long as you have recovered well there is no reason why you can’t return back to normal activities.

@@drtashag My Sergey has been done two months ago and in the surgery Dr has removed the lump from my Breast and had plastic surgery at that place to maintain the shape. In plastic surgery he has used some part of the upper right back side muscles and two lymph nodes have been removed also. The physiotherapist advised me not to do any kind of heavy work from the right hand ever". So I am afraid of this ever part she used in her statement. Is it true? If not then please tell me how long it will take to join the practice again?

I have a HR positive, grade I breast cancer (tumour size of 1.5cm). I had a lumpectomy and SNB which showed a 6mm cancerous deposit on my sentinel node. Do I need an ALND or this can be resolved by radiotherapy of the axilla? (and I presume chemotherapy)?
@drtashag Жыл бұрын
Hi. This is a good question. The treatment of the axilla and ultimately chemotherapy needs a discussion with your surgeons and oncologists. They would have discussed your case at their multidisciplinary team meeting (MDT) or tumour board meeting and decide what they recommend.

They decided for ALND because I have only one sentinel node. Is ALND more complicated after a sentinel node biopsy? Thanks.
