May the Holy Spirit continue to bless you and guide you to the right path and Christ’s true & universal church, the Catholic Church. Place all your trust in the Blessed Mother as She will take you to Her Son, Jesus, the Prince of Peace. Everything else will fall into place once you’re “home.” I also learned from Father Jim Blount this simple prayer but very beautiful and effective: “Oh Jesus, I surrender myself (or anything or anybody) to You, take care of everything.” Say this at least a few times or use the rosary beads and say the Glory Be after each decade. I’ve found this prayer simple yet quite miraculous. Hope this helps ❤

When I came to t 12:45 he USA in 1951 @age 9-1/2 from Italy, in the beginning I felt most comfortable and at home in a Catholic church. I followed Holy Mass with my Italian-Latin Missal, and I said or sang the responses in Latin. As I grew and learned English I still took my bilingual Missal to church until Holy Mass was celebrated all in English. This past decade I've been attending a local parish where I've been singing in the choir. The pastor likes for the choir to sing, on and off, parts of the Mass in Latin. At Christmas Midnight Mass, we sing carols and at Communion in seven languages total. Everybody feels at home, and I'm reminded of my childhood faith experience. At 84 yrs.of age I thank God for my Catholic faith.

I came back after 30 years. I had wilderness years of disbelief and skepticism. A few years ago I came back to belief, and had been nominally Methodist for the last 10. It was a conservative church, and love the people I left behind, but felt that call to home. The priest of my local parish said I needed to really think about my confession. Saying “I didn’t murder anyone but you can check a yes to the rest” wasn’t going to suffice for a confession, but did he laugh. It has been great! I am glad to be back home for all the reasons above.

I was raised in the Protestant church, married a Catholic who adamantly would not attend any other church, I saw his devotion to his faith, I saw his mothers devotion to the church even when they did not attend on a weekly basis. Moreover I saw the faithfulness over the years of other parishioners. I was always amazed to see the same faces week after week, year after year. Even when there were times I had missed mass several weeks in a row, they were there every Sunday. I became a Catholic six years after we were married (that was 50 years ago). I wasn’t a perfect Catholic for all those years and I’m not perfect now but my faith has continued to deepen. The more I studied the Catholic faith, the more I was impressed and awed, every day I discover something more that deepens my faith and devotion to being a Catholic. Some religions can’t stand up to scrutiny, Catholicism becomes more impressive the more you know about it. Some of the prayers date back hundreds of years and of course the more I read the Bible, the more I see our faith as the true faith. God bless you in your work and God bless each person who reads this, because it means you are reaching for Jesus.

I’m sorry for anyone who has been affected by the leadership of the Roman Catholic church. Please study God’s word for yourself. When you learn the truth, you will understand that Peter is not the Rock. Christ is the Rock 1 Corinthians 3:11. Please study. ------------- • Adding doctrines is apostasy and it’s forbidden. *Deuteronomy 4:2*, *Galatians 1:6-7* ****Mark 7:7**** Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. ------------- • There aren’t any officiating new covenant priests. We have a new ministry in the new covenant. *Ephesians 4:11* • God does not show favoritism *Romans 2:11* -- there is no evidence in the scriptures that the church was built on a human. We do not have a human pope to guide us. We are led by the Spirit. *Acts 1:5* ------------- • The scriptures show no differences in the apostles. ****Equality amongst the apostles**** “Ye are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone.” (****Ephesians 2:20****) “And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.” (****Revelation 21:14****). • Peter was no different than the others. ------------- • Mary nor the saints can hear prayers. There’s only one mediator in heaven between God & Man. *1 Timothy 2:5* For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, ------------- • All Christians are saints. *Philippians 1:1* Paul and Timotheus, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons: ------------- • All Christians are priests. *1 Peter 2:5* Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. ------------- • The doctrine of original sin is not biblical or found in the scriptures at all. *Ezekiel 18:20* The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him. ------------- Every Christian is supposed to study and read the Bible for themselves. *Acts 17:11* *Ephesians 3:4* As you read what I have written, you will understand my insight into this plan regarding Christ. *Psalm 119:15* I will study your commandments and reflect on your ways. ------------- • In order to receive salvation, we must all repent and accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and savior. We need no Eucharist, no veneration of Mary, no long list of good works, no baptism regeneration, no sacrament of reconciliation, no rosary, no pope, no papacy, no belief in Peter as the Rock 1 Corinthians 3:11, no man-made doctrine, no priests, no infallible magisterium, no Vatican, no communion of saints, no catechisms, no Marian dogmas, no transubstantiation, but only by faith through grace are we saved. ****Ephesians 2:8**** "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast".

I am a Protestant/Catholic convert, just like you Dr. Marshall, being officially welcomed into the Catholic Church Easter Vigil 2023. My husband and i postponed our secular wedding at a hall, to be married in the Catholic Church before God. My favorite things about being Catholic are #1. The Authority of Catholic Priests & safety under the catholic umbrella. #2. Mary as our Holy Mother and #3 Reverence & History of the Catholic Church. My husband and I purchased our first home on Eastern Long Island and a few months later had to move out. We ripped out the floors, the kitchen our house was down to bare plywood and after months of Chaos we finally had out home blessed by a Catholic Priest, and all the issues instantly lingered away like blowing out a candle. (I am sure you can read between the lines) Hence my Catholic Conversion. #2. I found such solitude from our Lady who tugged at my heart the first time I ever met a Catholic Priest (at the original house blessing, before all the Pope Leo’s) And have received direct help and protection from our Lady as well. 3. Coming from a Protestant church, a comedy show between cover bands, i found such beauty in the reverence, genuflecting, humility, tradition and history of the one true church. When our souls witness and testify to truth, there is no turning back. Thank you for standing up for righteousness and keep standing firm in our faith. Light and Love in the Lord.

He questioned me, then didn’t believe my answers. He was cold, cruel and apparently wanted me to feel ashamed. What I felt was shocked, afraid, confused and indignant. As soon as I was 18, I permanently left. Later this same priest was “credibly accused” and found Guilty of sexually abusing 4 Boys. He never spent a day in jail. He’s not on “pedophile” register. He still lives in the same area. His victims received $ettlements. He was removed from priesthood. I wonder how many people he hurt sexually, emotionally and spiritually during his “religious career” ? The problem with some of us cradles is that, we get stuck in the cradle and when challenged by Non-Catholics, we can't defend ourselves or our faith. One of my favorite things about Catholicism, is the Lenten experience. Thanks for your beautiful presentation. God bless you.

I’m not a Catholic, I’m an Anglican, Church of England ordained Priest. This really was a very inspiring, warm, welcoming, and joyful video. Thank you Dr Marshall. I’ve been looking closely at the Catholic Church for the last 4-5 years, even having personal conversations with someone from The Journey Home Network. If I am honest Dr Marshall, the number one reason I have not become Catholic is that I am fearful. Fearful because I stand before a Holy God as a sinner, and I am fearful of making the wrong decision. Over these last few years I have read so much from some of the most incredible Catholic theologians that I have ever come across, listened to countless hours of debates. One minute I sense I am getting closer to becoming Catholic, and then I hear good Protestant arguments and I pull back. It’s not as if I am worried about loosing my job, as I am currently living in the Middle East due to my wife’s work. But I am fearful of going against a Holy God. So much more I could say, but not here. If anyone comments, please don’t say, “Come home” because right now I do not know where home is. God bless you and your family Dr Marshall

Many many years ago when l was in a similar position, a wise Catholic priest said the following to me: Do you know why you are wanting to become a Catholic? Is it because you believe the Catholic Church is the true church? In fact there can be only one reason - knowing that this is what God wants you to do. So please go and ask Him in prayer. If His answer is yes, l shall willingly prepare you. I have never forgotten this sympathetic and faithful priest, and remain ever grateful to him for his direct and wise advice.

Yes it can be but Jesus said to Forgive them as God forgives us. Too According to Matthew 6:14-15, a person who doesn't forgive others will not be forgiven by God. In the verses, Jesus states: "For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins." We are ALL sinners and in need of forgiveness.

Jesus showed us that there will be wolves in sheeps clothings. Look at Judas. Jesus picked him for a reason. I'm sure Jesus would've loved it had judas Escariot asked for forgiveness instead of losing hope in God, but Judas made that choice out of his own free will. Just like any priests that have lost their way. They have free will and because they belong(ed) to the Catholic Church doesn't mean they're perfect. Many will infiltrate the Church because of the fact that It Is The One True Church. Otherwise, the devil would've left Her alone. Thank you, Taylor Marshall, I can subscribe to all 10 points (confession is still the hardest because I always know I'll have to go back there soon:). I grew up Lutheran and there was a definite anti-Catholic tone in the family. But each time when I passed a chapel (and we lived in a very Catholic area in Germany), I always felt the need to kneel before Our Lady. I felt like I was committing blasphemy, but it was as if my knees went weak. In 2015, I visited the birthplace of St Joan of Arc in France, whom I had admired as a child. I was overwhelmed by her presence - she was truly present to me - and I promised to become a Catholic. Someone then gave me the advice to attend a Latin mass, I had only known novo ordo until then - and was overwhelmed again. Never experienced anything like it before. I immediately enrolled for catechesis and in 2016, after so many years of being torn, I finally became Catholic.

@oyinbocele9 ай бұрын
@@calebjushua9252 That's fine. “sola scriptura” is an illusion. It is simply not possible to depend only on the scripture. What is needed is an interpretive framework, a hermeneutic apparatus, which most Protestant denominations borrow from the Catholic Church. But this is not reflected in Protestantism and should not be because they have left context of the tradition of the church. If they were honest they had to admit that in essential statements of the faith they depend on catholic doctrines. To give an example: the Holy Trinity is not scriptural. It is what the Church Fathers, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, read from Scripture and related to philosophical concepts. The Scripture itself speaks of the Father Son and the Holy Spirit, but nowhere are these three related to each other in the way that we take for granted today. If we get to the bottom of the matter, we will soon see that no one can base his life solely on the Bible, thats a phantasma. But so that it doesn't become arbitrary, we need the church's context of tradition. Having left this makes Protestantism so unstable, which is why there are always divisions.

No matter that he be a sinner himself, trust that he represents Jesus. When Jesus instituted the Sacrament he advised, whose sins you shall forgive will be forgiven you . Whose sins you shall retain shall be retained. St John Visnney 17:52 and Padre Pio we’re notable as confessors. Typically you feel quite tense as you go to confession and ponder your sins. Once you’ve confessed, you are so happy that you did as though a burden has been lifted off your back.

I also love the beauty of our Church, the candles, the incense, the flowers, the beautiful statues and paintings. All meant to glorify God and to inspire all of us here on earth.

I was away from the church for 15 years. I had wandered far. But God continued to call me back to him. I had a glorious journey back after exploring several Protestant I churches. I prayed hard for God to show me where I belonged. The Queen of peace came to me

I can't fast for medical reasons so the alternative I practice is giving up something like Lent. The thing I want to share with you relates to an experience in the hospital for pneumonia this week. The Eucharistic Minister from our parish came with Communion. When he walked into the room there was such a sense of peace, warmth and embracement that was overwhelming as the as the Blessed Sacrament, Jesus, entered the room. A lifetime experience.

I was just baptized and confirmed into the Church this month. Definitely agree about going to Mass; ever since I started attending I've felt the presence of God more than at any other time in my life. Absolutely amazing!

Latin Mass unifies us also. Catholics relate further by the prayer language and Sunday liturgy and church calender. Dont forget those amazing feast days amoung those sorrowful fasting days. Recently our parish celebrated the church triumphant and saints on all saints day and the children enjoyed dressing up as a saint and sharing facts for us all to guess who they were. So much good wholesome fun. Then morningtea and fellowshi. But we gather first and foremost for the sacraments of holy confession, Mass and Benediction beforehand

I believe all masses unify us since the same Epistle and Gospel and flow of the Mass from credo, asking for mercy, glory, offertory and Consecration are the same at every Mass in any place. When I went to a Mass in different language on vacation the local variances were there, but I could follow along as if it were in English. That to me is universality.
@johncassani6780 Жыл бұрын
@@sheilasamuels1066The readings at the Traditional Latin Mass are not the same as at the Novus ordo. Nor are they the same at Eastern Rite Divine Liturgies.
@jeannehall6546 Жыл бұрын
I attended a Tridentine Latin Mass and got totally confused by it! There was no sense of unity in community and prayer at any point- the priest and his men were doing their thing up front, the choir was singing in the gallery their own and the people were praying quietly in the pews all at the same time! I also couldn’t keep up with and was constantly getting lost in trying to follow along with the missal and no one was willing to help me find my place! I left that church totally frustrated! The next day, I attended Mass at a Lithuanian cultural center near my home (I was living in Illinois at the time). The Mass was the Ordo Missae (NOT “Novus Ordo”! According to Fr. Peter M.J. Stravinskas, the Mass the way it’s done now is called “Ordo Missae”- The Order of the Mass!) This Mass was very structured- the priest says or does something, the people respond accordingly! The context was easy to follow- I knew exactly what was going on and how to follow along appropriately- and I don’t speak a word of Lithuanian! I have attended Masses in the Byzantine Rite, the Maronite Rite and the Anglican Ordinariate. The people who attend those liturgies regularly don’t even care how everyone else worships! However, those who attend the Tridentine Mass regularly are always condemning those who don’t go along with their ways- especially those who attend the Ordo Missae liturgy! I’ll never attend the Tridentine Mass again!

I started back praying the rosary after I heard you say each bead prayer is a dart being fired into the heart of evil. I told my wife, who prays the rosary every day, and she said you were absolutely right. Let’s continue to fight the good fight in trust and obedience.

I was born into a Catholic family and explored fundamentalism and other areas of spirituality. I didn't step inside a Catholic church for about 2 decades, but eventually, I came back to Catholicism. After all the exploration, the Catholic church still feels like home to me. I can relate to the things you said in this video. Hello from the Philippines. 3 things I like: Mama Mary, freedom from constant checking by church leaders and members, the rosary.

You know what is great with your situation? You ask questions and try to get answers, and that is wonderful. Some like me were born and bred Catholics, put in some effort, sure, but I was lucky from the get-go. You will be even smarter than anything I might dream of being because if you end up accepting the faith, it will be a thoughtful conscious choice, and you won't be like some lousy Catholics (looking at myself).

I too was a protestant until I converted about 5 or 6 years ago. I was a victim of protestant propaganda about the Church. I took RICIA classes and talked with Protestant Pastors who gove me a clearer view of the Catholic Church. So I became a Catholic and I never looked back.

The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough to make CAKES to the QUEEN OF HEAVEN, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they make provoke me to anger. Wherefore, my dearly beloved, FLEE FROM IDOLATRY...What say I then? that the IDOL is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing? But I say, that which the Gentiles sacrifice, THEY SACRIFICE TO DEVILS, AND NOT TO GOD: and I WOULD NOT THAT YE SHOULD HAVE FELLOWSHIP WITH DEVILS. Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils. Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? I like being Catholic for all the reasons you told us. What I like the most it’s receiving the Holy Communion. One day while receiving communion I had a Miracle, just as the priest showed me the Holy Communion a bright light envelop me and the priest and I saw only the shining Holy Host coming to my tongue, I could not see the hands of the priest anymore, it was like Jesus himself gave it to me. Since that time my Holy Communion is so special. God Bless You and your family. In Christo et Maria, Rose 🌹

One of the best things about being a Catholic is getting to know the clergy and helping them, praying for them for the good of the whole and universal church. Implied in your list is the sacramental presence of God in the Church. I love that there are so many deep aspects to the faith and the church that you could spend your life studying and you would never exhaust the wealth of the church. I love PURGATORY and that we have the chance to purify.
