I had a total cholesterol of 279. Take Zetia 10mg daily, I did experience severe muscle pain when other statins were tried. (also levothyroxin but hours apart). No other health issues. Went to a whole food Vegan diet (almost a year now). Last check total cholesterol was 205, still high. My doctor said its genetics. Went down to eating once a day, made sure I dropped sugar as well I carefully watch it.. Would an additional med help like a "fibrate". Thank you so much for this video, I do understand a lot more!

Question - according to the ASCVD risk reduction guidelines from ACC updated in 2022, it is recommended to add bempedoic acid as the “next step” after PCSK9 mAb and ezetimibe and I’m curious why you haven’t added this drug option to this video. Is there a reason? (I haven’t been practicing while raising kids and I’m reviewing to jump back in the saddle so I may have missed something!) Thank you!

I’m 36, had small stroke, then major ischemic, I was 1 month postpartum, and 2 months post stroke. Low blood pressure. Was on 4 aspirins when had stroke, and heparin. Still don’t know why it happened. I’ve been fasting and still isn’t helping. I’ll try niacin. 🤷‍♀️

Heparin and aspirin shouldn't be taken together. Didn't your doctor tell you this? Next time ask or Google if certain drugs shouldn't mix . I hope you are better

Macrophages/early-stage foam cells also use SCARA2 and SCARB3 to perform high affinity to the VLDL, LDL and to import these compounds incide the cell. Pinocytosis is one of the mechanisms as well. I don't see a huge mistake here, sir.

@@lazy_docc You can knock out scavenger receptors and lipoprotein receptors, and this doesn't change anything. Knock out pinocytosis - and cells (not only macrophages btw, but also smooth muscle cells - another mistake) do not take up much cholesterol, no atherosclerosis develops, and no foam cells.
