Cost over $42,000 a yr for each inmate. Rehab or mental wards would be better. Reagan thought taxpayers shouldnt have to pay for mentally ill & here we r costing 4× more.

The crime the drug addicts are committing and the costs already are being paid for by taxpayers. Your rehab for mental illness due to drug addiction would be paid for by taxpayers and a very small chance that it would not be repetitive for every person .It is the government's job to protect us from people who are dangerous ,committing crimes. Prisons have rehab, job training, that is where criminals belong. Not excusing their actions due to their drug use.

We have about 9,000 homeless in Sac. Where can we move them? What buildings do we have for them? Where are the social workers? The money ids there but the trained staff and facilities aren't.
