Balms require a very little amount, as well as an actual rub in to your skin when told to apply with your fingers. Not just a one handed try. Compare to Ilia skin tint which asks you to rub in like a serum and you don’t need a lot. Hope that helps someone.

Yup, it's great for mature skin because the older you get the less foundation you use. She slavered it on with a trowel like young people do so it looked awful.

This is my fav foundation find of 2022. it's marketed as a tint so they can get away (try to ) with so few shades. The fairest shade is the one I use and is perfect and fades so gracefully, doesn't cling to any dry spots either. I have mature, dry skin but I do set this with a little powder or it's too sticky for my liking.

FYI, in case this helps someone, I have similar skin (oily dehydrated acne prone) and I reviewed Patrick Ta's and love both the powder and foundation. The Lady Gaga review will be up soon but spoiler, it wasn't as great as I expected (at least on my skin) so I am really bummed 😭

Oh my gosh. This is my new favorite... favorite!... foundation. What I love the most is the lightweight feel (being a balm) and the graceful fade. I never look overdone with this nor does it ever breakup on me so that it looks chunky or separate on the skin. I usually finish it with a slight dusting of powder. I happen to have a skin tone that fits one of the shades (not perfect, but close) and a brush is DEFINITELY the way to go for some reason, I agree.

I love this foundation! I use fair 20 right now, will switch to fair 10 soon. Fair 20 has a cooler undertone. I think it would suit you nicely. Fair 10 leans a smidge yellow, not orange. I think the shades are limited because it’s not really foundation but a tint, but I also agree they could use some work.

I also like it much better with a brush! I use my old Sigma brush and it looks better than when used with fingertips or sponge. I love this foundation and i normally like a much heavier foundation. This is a winner! I never thought I would like it, but it looks much better than anything expensive.

This foundation is fantastic if you can find a shade match. I would not recommend using anything moisturizing or glowy underneath because it is quite dewy on its own.

LA Girl sells foundation pigment colors to correct foundation that do not change anything but the shade. Temptu also does.

Elf putty primer with this balm 😍 gorgeous, flawless skin that doesn't look heavy. I am a dry skin girl, so that does help the longevity.

I use this foundation. I love it. You need very little. It definitely pulls orange and especially if you use a lot. I’d love to see you try it again using a little bit of product and one shade down from what you think you need. I use a brush and then a sponge as well 😉

Coming back to rewatch this and thank you for your videos! I've been on a no makeup kick for the last half year or so because for whatever reason, even my tried and true foundations just weren't cutting it. I still don't know what the issue was/is, but they all started feeling and looking so cakey. I bought this balm because of your review and I loooove it, I pair it with the age rewind concealer and the Maybelline matte loose powder for my base and I finally have an easy go to make-up routine that doesn't feel too heavy or over the top for daily wear.

I’m pretty sure I have the same shade as you have in this balm foundation. I thought what I chose was the fairest shade. I am a little paler than you are so …can you imagine how orange/dark this looks on me?!! Haha… and I definitely think it also oxidizes about 1/2 shade darker too!!! Argghhhhh!! It is a nice finish and applies so easily. It’s such a bummer about the shades. Thanks for the review!!

Well. I decided to buy this after a bit of an accident. Yesterday i dropped my current foundation and it totally shattered. I went to my local Walgreens and they were out of my favorite foundation so thought i'd give this one a go. I have mature, combo skin. Not crazy oily but i do use blotting paper on my T zone most days. I bought the same shade that you did, light 10, but i'm a bit darker than you but not much, i'm probably a bit closer to light/medium. It seems to be ok shade wise, when i got home with it i swatched it on my cheek. My girlfriend uses it and she found it didn't get too crazy in her T zone if she doesn't use a moisturizer under it. She also doesn't use it with a primer. She has similar skin to me. I really enjoy the Wet and Wild tinted hydrator and when i wear that i don't use a moisturizer under that so maybe I'll try it without.

The camera betrays everybody. The mirror as well. Like when I put on foundation, I look dry in one mirror and I look natural in one mirror so I am confused everyday. I want silky smooth cc cream or foundation on the skin, but most of them oxidize. All of my go-tos have been either discontinued like becca cosmetics or bought by another large company. Too many new formulas out there and I can't try every foundation before I buy it. I made a mistake when I bought the smashbox skin hydrating foundation and it was actually oil-free so my dry skin didn't like it at all. Thank you for doing these makeup reviews.

I agree that L’Oréal needs to extensively expand the shade range on this product however I didn’t see it as orange on you. Again it could have been the camera correcting the color. Maybe try one shade lighter. It is one of my favorite everyday go tos right now. I do use a small amount of concealer and minimal setting powder in my t zone with it.

I think this one does as it claims but the color range is a bit shameful. I say a bit only because it is a skin tint. After looking at the arm swatches it looks like fair 10 would have been a far better match for you. I had to stop the video when it got to the warnings (not what it was called but you get what I mean, lol) I don't believe I've ever seen warnings like that on a skin product. The last part was something else. Call poison control 😬 What in thee hell did they put in this skin tint?? Yikes, lol...
