I have tried/used all 3 - the NYX Pore Filler is the better alternative of the 3 mentioned. I have combo skin (winter dry and summer sometimes oily) and find the that the Maybelline Baby Skin is a bit more slippery making some foundations slip and slide. I have to use a lot more powder and keep reapplying powder throughout the day as well. ELF would be my 2nd choice of the 3 mentioned. I am enjoying the Drugstore Series!! Happy Holidays :)

Ashley Kathol I found that using less was better. It's slippery when you apply it but it did not make my foundation patchy nor did I find it to slide. When I do a full on full face of make up I do include primer, setting powder and setting spray. In general I find that not all primers play well with all foundations (water base vs silicone base). I hope this helps answers your question.

Lots of videos comparing Baby Skin to Porefessional...in my opinion they are entirely different! Baby skin feels sort of vaseline-y and thin and makes my oily skin worse, and my makeup slides off 1/4 way through the day. Porefessional is thicker and actually sets my foundation and helps keep it matte, but not dry looking (amazing). Also, as is super obvious from this video, Baby Skin is clear and Porefessional is tinted...the tint in Porefessional allows me to wear it either under foundation or alone; natural looking, like me, only way better. Porefessional also fills in and blurs fine lines, I look 10 years younger wearing it, Baby skin does not much for lines. I am still searching for a Porefessional Dupe but so far no luck. It's so damn expensive, but nothing I have tried in the drug stores even comes close; its either tacky or too thin or greasy for me; Loreal, maybeline, physicians formula, cover girl, cc creams, nothing close yet, so I'll continue buying Porefessional while trying others on the side till I find a dupe. I'll try the Elf and the NYX though...they look like possibilities.

Thank you for sharing this one! In my youth I always used Clinique pore minimizer which was wonderful, however now that I'm older (62) it isn't suitable for me any longer. I really hope that at some point, the wet 'n' wild range comes to drugstores in the UK. I paid quite a lot for a single brulee eyeshadow, as I have pale skin and you use it a lot. I haven't been disappointed. It blends out the edges of my shadow, and puts down a fantastic base. Superdrug stores would be a fantastic outlet for this brand. I love love love this December drugstore series! Such a great idea! I have also tried the Benefit porefessional, as well as all 3 of the drugstore dupes that you mentioned. I love the NYX and the ELF (especially the ELF). The maybelline baby skin was a bit too greasy for my oily skin. I love a matte effect! The NYX is fantastic...but the ELF is just as good, in my opinion, and for a fraction of the cost!!

I am obsessed with the Benefit Porefessional, sometimes on no make up days I will wear it by itself with a little tiny bit of powder. It makes the skin looks so nice and smooth. But absolutely hate the price!! Of the three you tested, I thought that the ELF looked the nicest on your skin in comparison with Benefit Porefessional! And I love that elf is a cruelty free brand (as is NYX) and Benefit is not! That right there is a huge selling point in addition to it’s economical price! Thank you so much for doing this video!

The elf moves my foundation, unfortunately.. I literally just threw the remainder of my bottle away earlier in the week. I have tried the Maybelline Baby Skin one in the past and it works great. I am currently looking for a dupe for the Smashbox Photo Finish primer (which is my holy grail of primers) and I need to revisit the Maybelline Baby Skin one again. I forgot about it. The consistency and texture are extremely similar.. I am currently using Maybelline Face Studio Master Prime. It is alright. Don't hate it, don't love it. Thanks for making this one, Zabrena! The fact that you do Wear Tests on pretty much everything drug store, is what sets you apart. Love you!

I have the baby skin primer and I hv to say it's good I had no problems with it. I would love to try a high end primer but I refuse to pay that much money. I must be using the Nyx Pore Filler wrong because not only does it not mask my pores that well, it also makes any foundation I put on top look so cakey! But the elf one is way better in my opinion so I have no interest in repurchasing the Nyx one anyway 🙃

Are you using a silicone based foundation over the top? I ask because a water based foundation wouldn't play well with a silicone based primer ... my other thought is did you let it dry completely before applying your foundation? I usually apply it before doing my eyes, do my eyes and then come back to do my face and haven't had any issues with it. Everyone's skin is different though! Just thought I'd offer some advice :)

All of my foundations are silicone based, since the water based one tend to leave me looking like a grease pit. And I evidently apply my makeup in the same order as you and it still looks cakey. I guess it's just not meant to be 😛

if you're rubbing primers in then its going to do the complete opposite as you've pretty much rubbed it off your face always pat the product in which is the same process for moisturisers etc as rubbing causes micro exfoliation aswell as premature ageing

I find Elf Camouflage Concealer is so thick on me that it points out my pores. I have found a couple I like better, but this pore filler dupes has made me think I need to use one to see if it helps. Thanks for the info. Wouldn't miss one of your sessions for anything.

The key to a good pore-filling primer is Dimethicone. I use the Baby Skin primer because its first ingredient is Dimethicone. That's the ingredient that causes the pore-filling results.

probably because avon products are rubbish as they're very low quality the body shop wins over avon any day of the week and with people now refusing to wear anything tested on animals or even going as far as making sure their products are vegan companies take a massive hit which is why they drop new products that are no where near ready to be put out there every 5 mins

I love the ELF Pore Primer. I've used it for a long time and it last about 6-8 hours on me. I don't usually wear makeup for longer than that so it doesn't bother me that it doesn't last as long as other Primers. I love how silky it makes my skin feel.

that'll be because you haven't taken your skin type into account if you're oily it's not gonna work same as if some in dry can't wear anything matte without it attaching to the dry patches and making them look scaly or even waited for the primer to dry which you're supposed to wait 5-10mins before applying foundation

I recently found another dupe at Ulta - Bronx Colors Pore Minimizer Studioline. That brand goes on sale a lot, so I think it was only like $6! I was shocked at how great it worked!

I know this video is so old, and I'm not sure if you'll see this comment or not, but I think I found another dupe for Pore-fessional and I actually like it. It's another Elf primer. I'll start by saying, I got the full size pore-fessional in my boxycharm last month. I was so excited. So many people talk great about it, and I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. That's where the love ended. Once I got my hands on it, I hated it. It's gritty/grainy feeling, and goes on smooth, but turns dry feeling (while being smooth. It's so odd to me). And, while I'm insanely oily, it did not mix well with my skin. It left my foundation patchy and the oil bled through within a couple hours and my makeup started melting off. I love elf products. My skin seems to really love elf products, so I saw a matte primer with oil control on the elf website and decided to try it. I am so glad I did. I feel like now I understand what everyone was talking about with the pore-fessional, but in a product my skin actual loves. Maybe you can give it a test run and see how it really compares. It's: Elf+ Matte oil-control primer (+ kaolin clay and tea tree). I am so in love with this product. I'm currently on hour 8, zero oil break thru (and I'm very oily) and my makeup is holding up like a champ!

Pore Filler is one of my favorite primers especially for special events and it doesn’t break me out or break down with oil like the Benefit one. I really enjoy the Baby Skin on textured areas this time of year when I’m more dry and wind chapped. Btw the Baby Skin actually has the same amount of product(20ml) as the Nyx Pore Filler though the packaging is small. I’m really intrigued by the elf one, might get it next time I order from elf!

I broke out from porefessional and switched to using Julep Blank Canvas treatment primer in matte. It’s so good, I wear it by itself even! It has skincare ingredients included, but it’s one of those “thick and tacky at first” primers that holds your foundation all day.

Another great video! However, I think that if you're going to compare prices, it's also important to note how much product you're getting. For example, the Maybelline primer contains .67 oz of product for $6.99 whereas the e.l.f primer contains .47 oz for $4.99. So when calculating unit prices, the e.l.f. primer is actually a little more expensive than the Maybelline primer.

i love ELF primers! that one smells funny bc it has tea tree oil but like you said it goes away when you blend it in, the white primer its also really good, i think its the mineral infused one, it makes you foundation look flawless!! the green one for blemishes works well but its not as great as the other two ;)

Lately I've been using the loreal magic perfecting base. It's a Lil thicker so it's great at filling in pores. I have the porefessional, nyx and baby skin but prefer this to all of them!
