Finally a druid other than Moon with a wildshape ability that's both fun and effective. Fiery teleport has a ton of uses.

well it seems to be a theme for the new Circles now. the Circle of Spore and Stars also got a wildshape use, BUT the spore one is really weak and does not fit the druid theme as it wants you to be using melee weapons. the Circle of stars is good and versatile, but still goes down to a little more damage each round, more healing or better chance at keeping concentration on spells.

Yeah, wildfire is so good. Like at level 2, you can do 3d6+2 aoe damage without spending any spell slots. And after that, you can do 1d6+2 aoe damage every round with your bonus action.

Thing is the loss of fireball didn't upset me it was the fact that they didn't get firebolt as a cantrip plus why can't you choose to have your fire spirit illuminate?

jep the firebolt removed is worse then losing fireball. but i got around it by using the Gruul Anarch BG, but ofc it needs a DM who allows it.

You already have Produce Flame which fits the same flavour niche.

Yeah I'm playing one rn and feeling the lack of Firebolt. The Fire Spirit not giving off light is also weird, and it's important bc we're playing all humans and 1 halfling, so we need light. You could normally get it around it with Arcana Cleric, but it's an AL game so no allowed T_T

I recently ended the Lost Laboratory of Kwalish with this great wildfire healer. It was great, i named my spirit Chispa ("spark" in spanish). It's great to get such great bonus actions, the tactic teleportation is amazing. I was a variant human with the Chef feat, that way the fire handling and the druidic knowledge merged great with cooking skills that also heal XD great characters will come from this subclass, love it 🔥❤🔥

Great options for the fire spirit and healing! Can’t help but think there are a lot of creatures that resist fire damage, so keeping something different in your back pocket may help with that.

I'm going to play this class in my next campaign and I'm very excited to try it. I've never played a druid before and circle of the moon just seemed like the best and only option. The versatility of this subclass is what really drew me to it

The tactical ability of this subclass are great. Move allies, set fire and the rest is really fun. When you get it, I love Wildfire TP of Downed PCs into healing Cauterizing Flames all while you are doing damage to the person that put them down and you didn’t have to use your main action to do it.

I am currently playing a circle of the wild fire firbolg in a Fae wilds campaign, basically the city we were in got teleported to the Fae wild and we have been trying to help the city survive and find a way back whilst going out and exploring the wilds for a way to get the city back. My spirit takes the shape of a flame wreathed great ape. His name is kevyn and has a new Zealand accent. I've started a survival school in town to make some money haha. He is strong and wise but has negatives to int and wisdom. I love himz combat is great although I've had to commission some better armour and a home-brewed hide shield.

One thing this subclass does is address the total lack of offensive non-concentration spells druids have at level 2. You pretty much have to otherwise upcast spells like Ice Knife or Thunderwave at that level.

I think if your a DM and you need a NPC Companion for your Party, a Wildfire druid sounds amazing. Not so OP they one hit people. Not an Extremely Healing God. And not so Tanky they can survive anything. And in the Roleplaying perspective you can set up Fake out deaths with em, Have the NPC fall off a cliff mid fight, and have the spirit follow for the rez. hell you could be in that situation, have the spirit jump into the hole and live seperate from your party. Really RP wise it's amazing

I have homebrew monk class( basically a firebender) monk and circle of fire combo. He learns from nature ( life) and learns to shape it into a way of combat (death). He has so far punch our barbarin back to life. Was a great momment. Barbarian drop to 0 Monks turn: as he falls monk/druid uppercut barbarian back to consciousness.

My wildfire druid just died last week in the time of the frost maiden campaign. The class is a a lot of fun to play. I will say it a bit harder to play because you dont get to be a tanky with the wild shapes before the spirit takes them. However the tactics are unlimited on the battle field but you become a target or at least I did to the frost maiden.

losing Firebolt also hurt as Druids are very lacking in good ranged cantrips, and Flaming sphere goes in and also uses your bonus action so its either that or your wildfire spirit to use your bonus action on.

I have a homebrewed circle of wildfire that is the son of another character I played that lead to my Druid being born in hell, so with my DM, my Druid is starting to have hellfire releasing in his spells that he’s struggling to control. It’s been a ... BLAST... to play.

I am disappointed by the removal of fireball from the spell list, but having DM'ed a one-shot at 12th level, where one of my players was a UA version of this class, I think I get why. The Circle of Wildfire just had answers in spells or abilities for almost half of the raid scenario I was running. That character was very close to OP. I think good usage of Produce Flames and Flaming Sphere with the Wildfire Spirit spewing hate... it totaled MANY dice of damage over MOST turns. Then it popped huge, life-saving heals, too. The smart enemies would aggro to him immediately, but the party saved him every time with flying colors. Jerry, the druid player, almost OWNED that game.

This class came out same time I wanted to do a dragon born druid who was seeking to commit forest fires in areas where mankind has prevented nature from its natural clean sweep to renew. Loved the character, but party self destructed.

I tried playing this in a pickup Roll20 game. We started at lvl 5. The DM was angry anytime I tried to use the Wildfire Spirit. He would immediately have all NPCs target the Wildfire Spirit to attempt to kill it off in the first round of combat. In our third game session, he became so angry his kicked me from the game for picking such an OP and broken class.

Hey guess what. As a dm i can allow my druid to take fire ball if they ask me. Its no skin off my back. Its not like its a sorcerer evotion wizard twinn casting fire ball fireball while maximizeing the damage.

I feel like it's a very clericy druid. The loss of fireball and firebolt feels bad but the loss a a searing vengeance like mechanic is worst imo. Great healer with the healing spells always prepared so that you can have fun while choising your spells.

Great work guys y'all are one of the very best ttrpg channels around and I enjoy and learn a lot from y'alls videos. With regards to this subclass, I hate to be negative, but this druid not having access to fireball is a huge omission and a very questionable decision.

Honestly, when do you play a game of 5e that doesn't have some mild form of homebrew. Almost never. There are a few fans of adventures league or whatever, but even then there is some tiny homebrew that goes on. I have a feeling, most people who want fireball, will replace the spell that replaced it. No biggie. That's exactly what I'll be doing should I play a wildfire druid.

Playing this at the moment in a high level campaign, Vermillion Firebrand a fire genasi. My experience of this subclass... bad. In 10+ it dosent hold as useful, the wildfire is basically a tough familiar but can only be around for an hour and so cant be consistantly out and then needs an action to summon. The teleport is ok when people are grappled or restrained but 15ft really just delays the inevitable, its damage is trash and the take an action to summon it ruins it, if it was a BA it would be great but action and a wildshape is expensive for a 1hr familiar.

am I the only one who thinks they synergy between a Wildfire Druid and Divine Soul Sorcerer would be great? Your rearguard would both have good healing and offense capabilities. Utility shouldn't be an issue. If they both choose well you'd have two casters who could cover all bases switching roles as needed.
