Have a friend that used to drum for Moon Hooch, and is currently working on a new project, showed him your channel before he recorded some of his own drums and he said it was really helpful.

These mics sound like they mix themselves Btw great looking studio facelift!

Thank you! I was surprised by how much I liked these mics on overheads. Given that I prefer large diaphragm condensers. And I agree they do kind of mix themselves. Very easy to work with in a mix.

Mic Parts is the same guy who owns Roswell Mics, Correct? Anyhow, I'm super stoked you've been active on KZbin. When I got into recording drums this was the channel that at was helping me the most.

Yes it's the same guy. He does a fantastic job at designing mics. I'm happy to hear that you've found the videos helpful! Thank you for watching!!

Great video! I can't see how the spacebar is positioned. Is it place in the middle of the drumset with one mic looking at the ride and the other at the hihat?

Excellent. I'm more of a AKG 452 guy on overheads but I am also a KM84 lover. I love it on hi hats and some acoustic guitars. The KM84 has a silky sound . I can see how they would work great on cymbals. I'll have to look into the mic parts version 👍😎

Do you recall the height of those overheads from the snare? I agree I was stunned at their bigness. I’ve been using shure KSM32’s in a similar way (inspired partially by you, years ago) - I like to get the main sound out of em and go grab the attack and sustain qualities I want from close mics

I don't remember exactly the distance from the snare but they were about 6' off the ground as they touched the top of my head if I stood under them.

just out of curiosity did you try them as spaced pair, etc ?

Not yet. For the sessions we used them on I decided to just go a different route to change things up. I will do that at some point though.
