In 2000 I went to a 'Festival of Noise' which had everything from drummers to loud fireworks. At one point there was a 'drum off' between Chinese and Indian drummers, it was amazing!

Seeing is believing, I'm still in shock by such an enormous performance, the effort and discipline put in are huge and stonishing, only have a suggestion, why not also perform in Europe at the Tattoo reunions in the UK, Scotland, and Switzerland. They would be greatly appreciated. My sincere thanks to such a great group and their incredulous stamina, not an easy job to hold each batton with a weight of between 3 to 5 or more kilos each.

I remember seeing Kodo for the 1st time decades ago when they introduced this type of ceremonial drumming & fell in love with this style. The loincloth wearing lads in the finale were equally memorable & I still have the cassettes I bought then. In those days, it was unacceptable for women to be part of the team. How excellent to see times have changed radically.

I first heard Taiko when Kenny Endo brought his troupe through Hilo Hawaii ~1986? on a world tour. I kept the brochure for years: Inside it said the size of a village was determined by how far you could go and still hear the drum. So he decided to take the drum around the world so we can hear it and know we are All One Village 🙏
