As a band Zeps sense of dynamics is phenomenal. Also Plant and Bonham were 20 and 21 during this performance. I don’t know about you but I was barely functioning as a human let along doing something like this at that age.

Absolutely love these live Zeppelin reactions. Can literally just close your eyes and imagine you are there, hearing Robert Plant screaming in front of you, feeling Bonhams bass drum in your chest and getting lost in both John Paul Jones and Jimmy Pages sheer wizardry! Keep up the great work as always Andrew mate.

As much as I know this is supposed to be focusing on Bonham's drumming which is no less than outstanding as always, I've mainly come here for Page's insane guitar work. This has to easily be one of my favourite of his live performances, he absolutely kills it here.

Back in the late 90s I got a poor bootleg VHS copy of this concert and as a Zep fan I was disappointed, but also glad to have a piece of rare stuff. Then when the Led Zeppelin DVD was released in 2003 with the Royal Albert Hall film fully restored, I couldn't believe my eyes and ears. It blew me away and renewed my love for my favourite band.

@@AndrewRooneyDrums I just watched the video where Jason talked about his dad what he said was his father was self taught , he didn’t have a drum kit till he was 16 I think he said he had a snare drum before the kit . The video on KZbin says AXS tv. John Bonham talks to Sammy Hagar about what it was like to have a drummer father . Something like that if you look it up it’s only a few minutes long , and his son talked about learning from his father . Cheers mate

Great reaction Andy! Excellent breakdown as the song was playing, keep doing that without the humorous editing for visual effects and you should be able to crank out reactions more efficiently. Keep doing what you are doing, stopping the track to teach and react. Bonham is so good on this! Sublime. 😎🥁

Hi from France, Andrew ! Here we have a band that is not famous at all but rather excellent. It is called Hadouk Trio. It is a mix between jazz and foreign cultures. Steve Shehan, the percussionist, is really someone that you want to her; he's connected with the rythm. He plays with Moroccan kitchen brush on djembe that delivers something near the jazz brushes but with a warmer sound. I would suggest this live (kzbin.info/www/bejne/mJ-weox7mpV6gNU) and the second sound 'Dragon de Lune' . Another jazz piece would be the drum solo of Mark Guiliana on this live of Dhafer Youssef : kzbin.info/www/bejne/hXOqioZ4h5WSfKM Have a great time in your beautiful country and prepare yourselves our great return in rugby ;)
@Delmonteil3 жыл бұрын
"Here are Moroccan kitchen brushes, coming from southern Morocco. When I find them they are like this, very rough, very thick and the purpose is to work on them, to refine them, to make them able to be played with and on any percussion instrument. To refine them could be to rub them for days, like this, to simulate rain, and with time they become very fine and the rain becomes a small wood fire (the other brushes are 2 years old). And then, it becomes to be very pleasant to play with these brushes." kzbin.info/www/bejne/sGrcoaycYpKdpbs

I believe John slightly overplayed in this version. I am a huge fan but there is so so much better stuff out there , especially live. The 1971 live stuff is real good , like Japan and Toronto version of Celebration Day where he is just a beast behind Jimmy. His foot is so fast that you need multiple listens to realize what he is doing.

I watched your reaction to Whole lotta love just before they blocked the video, I was gonna leave this comment there but I guess here works too. You know how KZbin recommends videos following what you are watching, right? So this video came up, of a channel I am subscribed. kzbin.info/www/bejne/f2SVhIudd7x4f80 It’s the separate track of the percussion section for that record. What’s interesting is the picture that accompanies the audio track: you see there John Paul Jones, Plant and Bonham playing together. I think that it is interesting. I appreciate your reactions! Keep them coming, please and have a nice day.
