She started publicly doing Toto catalog covers since she was 8. Is now in two jazz bands Muze and Ear Candy Jazz. As of this month, Make that three bands. As of this month she officially joined Koiai, a rock, metal, prog band with Lisa-X (guitarist, protege of Paul Gilbert and Marty Friedman), Hazuki (guitarist for Nemophila metal rock), Konoto (singer of Iron Bunny) and drummer Kanade Sato.

Kanade Sato was born on 2002 Sept 19th. Now she is 18 years old a simple cheerful high school student. She likes ice cream and avocado, hahaha.

There's another Japanese girl named Yoyoka that does a great cover of Led Zeppelin's Good Times, Bad Times (as well as a lot of other songs). I believe she was eight years old at the time and you can see the immense joy that she is having whilst playing the drums. Super cute...but a killer!

I found her when she was 7 (and she was already incredible then) and I have been so frustrated that , until now , she still had not got the recognition she deserves, compare to others drummer beat by beat. Even to find anyone react to her playing is so hard. This might be the life she chose but for a musician that never came close to be called prodigy or gifted like me .... it's so frustrated. You want to see a Female Japanese drummer? Actually, there are A LOT of them. I have to suggest you start with where I came in and check out Band-Maid's Akane Hirose. I've not been into a band or drummer like this since Rush and Neal Peart when I was just learning back in the 80s. There are better drummers out there, but none that can be so busy while at the same time perfectly supporting of the rest of the band and the music. But which song to start on? The third song I heard from them, and the one that made me a fanatic, Real Existence. Gotta do the live (the mix is a bit muddy compared to the studio, but it leaves NO doubt they are amazing live musicians.) kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y6K0n35_gbdoq5I She plays multiple rhythms per section. And each progression perfectly supports what each of the other instruments are doing. Mind you, this is EARLY Band-Maid. You want a drummer with more diverse and overall chops? Senri Kawaguchi. Kanade, Yoyoka are the two top girl players but Yoyoka is 5 years younger. If you say 17 and 18-year-olds are still "young," then there are about dozen. There is a young girl Bonzo playing and knocked Yoyoka out and she's 17. 18-year-old plays like Vinnie Colaiuta (did I spelled his name right?) Junna, also check her Cannon Rock!! Some of my favorite drummers. A-Yeon and Ami Kim, Korean. Vela Blue and S. White, Chinese. Amira Sayahira, Malaysian. A favorite of mine I've watched for about 3 years is Olivia Hanhan, sour candy, and Dynamite!! She is also Chinese!! If you haven't heard of "DIMASH" from Kazakhstan. Put in S O S and Sinful Passion. His counterpart is 'SO HYANG" from Korea. She sang "YOU RAISED ME UP" while having pneumonia!! She sings "Lean On Me" with Michael Bolton watching her. These two are a level-up on any singer you want to name. Enjoy!!
