One of my favourite Drummers Rod Morgenstein! from one of my favourite groups Dixie Dregs! Unsung Heros, drum solo towards the end of the track Cruise Control 😀 this is a clip from the live album Bring Them Back Alive 1992 🙂

Foot note: Morgenstein had already recorded and toured with Winger by the time this Dixie Dregs live recording took place.

Rod Morgenstein is a Professor in Percussion Department of Berklee College of Music. He also has a great book called Drum Set Warm-ups. Love his work especially with Winger.

Had the honor to attend a clinic of his at PAS some years back. Blew my mind. Wickedly talented. Fluid. Complete mastery.

Rod is one of the ALL-TIME greats! I've seen him many times with the Dixie Dregs and was totally blessed to see him do a drum clinic at La Habra Music in La Habra, Ca. way back in...I think the late 1980"s? BTW...the footage you were watching was NOT from 1973...I believe it is from 1992.

If you have a chance, Gary, I'd love to see you react to Thomas Lang's submission to the Nine Beats USA "Solo Solo" promotion. Thanks for considering this :)

Here's a great video of Rod and the amazing Jordan Rudess of Dream Theater on keyboards that I know you'll love, Garey. Watch on your own time. You're welcome. ;-) Rod Morgenstein - Jordan Rudess: OVER THE EDGE - 1998. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZ_amGOPp8ieqJI

Hi Could you react to a drum solo by the chilean drummer Gabriel Parra?, specifically the one from the song "Corre que te pillo", live. Hope have a nice day. Cheers from Chile

A drummer trying too much on quads. He stole the 4/4 to 6/8 from Steve Smith drum solos during his stint with Journey

i don't know anything about that story, but both of those guys are elite level and monster drummers.
