As a very very beginner drummer, it’s just so insane to me that you can look at a fill that fast and be like “yeah he’s doing this stick pattern with this type of paradiddle. Here’s how.” When in my eyes it’s just a bunch of sounds flowing really well together and sounds awesome and super hard lmao. Crazy how you can pick that stuff apart and then mimic it so easily.

My signature sound was using Evens ebony drum heads on the bottom of the toms and Evens G2's on the top. It gave it a unique thicc sound. I did this back in 2003 and kept it till 2009. There is a video of it here on youtube but the fella that recorded it had the gains to high and clipped a lot. I had to work some magic in Sonar 4 to get rid of the clipping and it came out some what ok. If you did want to listen to it I could link the video. P.S. there were mistakes made on my part in the recording were I messed up the chorus on a miss hit. Someone walked in the door and it threw me off.

At this time I'm cash strapped as we all are, so I haven't cracked one in yrs. The last one I cracked back in the day, was one of my Zildjian custom K crashes. I had 2 of them at the time, and i remember playing the gig and knowing exactly when it happened. I was upset needless to say cause I only had just bought them weeks before. This was in 1997 and I paid $150 a piece for them back then. But I fixed the cracked so it wouldn't get worse and used it for yrs after.
