I can only imagine The Japanese Rock scene in the 80's. It was off the charts with X Japan, Show YA, Loudness, and even Princesses Princesses.

First time I heard Seikima-II, I can see why Saki (Chuky) loves this band. Dave's face lights up with every new band he's exposed to. He's had the best reactions so far. A fun follow up would be Nemophila Detroit Rock City. Now that you are doing Nyango Star, is there hope for reaction to Junna? The twice burned DragonForce song Through the Fires and Flames is a great cover. Gee even gave a reaction which was a lot of fun.

Although KISS were there first we have to keep in mind that KISS borrowed the idea for their make-up from Japanese Kabuki so it's only fair to see a Japanese band do the same :) I'm really happy you showed this band to Dave! I hope he might take a look into their discography some day. They are so great. Btw, the band is called Seikima-tsu (I'm always getting a minor heart attack when you say Seikima two. But that's okay, it's not a big mistake, just funny and a bit painful to hear 😅) I just wondered, have you ever heard of the band Anthem? They also started in the 80s and they are probably the one active band I would love to see most getting more fans overseas because I think everyone would love them if only they knew of their existence and for that you are our guy, right :) I think for an introduction and because of the added bonus of English language I would recommend starting with something from their latest album. Look up "Wheels of Fire" please, it would make me incredibly happy.

I've never heard of Anthem, so I looked them up. They are actually really good, playing heavy, driving hard rock/metal. I for one would be quite happy if Joel showed some of his guests a song from this band.

Good song and good reaction. Seikima II is a banger. One of the favorites is when the singer is standing on his head singing. Not only is it cool, it is the best part musically also. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eGHIYqRjgrOhpaM (Audio only with high audio quality) kzbin.info/www/bejne/qIimoJqHq9StetU (Very nice video where he is standing on his head at 7:00)

Seikima-II > KISS. Ignoring the gimmick of the costumes, I appreciate the fact they play classic heavy metal (and play it VERY well), whereas KISS basically just played pop rock / hard rock. And that voice - great control and range with a heavy dose of vibrato. I want to hear him do a duo with Asami.

I agree that Seikima-II are may better than KISS but also because their discography is so diverse! They did _not_ only play classic heavy metal ;)

@@therose6901 I need to spend some time and check out their (Seikima-II) back catalogue, because I'm only really familiar with a few of their songs.
