My favorite happy accident with drummer is how it responds to arrangement markers. Do this, set your song arrangement markers using intro, verse, chorus, etc. then create an instance of drummer. You will get drum regions based on the arrangement types automatically!

As a professional drummer, I'm really knocked out by what I can now do with' drummer.' I use it all the time as a 'click track' and for songwriting. When a track is done I can jump on my kit and add 'live' drums to replace the drummer track (or keep 'drummer' because it sounds great!).

This is BY FAR the best logic channel I have come across. instant subscribe. I'm a long time logic user and I was shocked but all of these tips and tricks I had never used. Immensely useful information with well-done videos to boot. I'd like to see a deep dive into user interface settings. I know there is a way to get three tool options instead of the default 2 but I can't find how to do that. Anyway, excellent work.

Awesome... I just figured out how to see the drum names in the piano roll! yes. Love drummer, had it listen to my scratch rhythm guitar track for a whole song and it played to the track like a real drummer would have done. Another trick is to have the Logic Drummer play my Kontact Studio kit or other sampler once I'm happy with the midi parts.

I have a question related to logic drummer, can it auto accent? Like for eg. I'm playing a phrase where the chords go descending like Am, G ,F and the bass guitar and other instruments Make it sound like sticato can the logic Drummer do that? Is there a way to achieve this???

Chris, I hope you see this question about drummer. When I use the "expanded" drummer (stereo or producer kit) I see that Logic uses sends in "post fader" setting, to reverbs and such. Why do we want drum sends to be "post fader"?

What would make it so that when I change drummers, there's nothing programmed anymore? I have no problem using logics drummer in my own work, but I'm working on a file from school, and when I change drummers, everything gets deleted, when I edit parameters like complex loud or simple, nothing changes. I can't figure out why.

The only this Drummer likes is to be able to play 3/8 or 6/8. I’ve gotten ok results by bringing up the “swing” to 60. Anyone else have a suggestion?

Hey Chris! Love your videos! Super helpful all the time! My question is, does anyone know how you can relabel the piano roll if you use third party drum plugins (like GetGood Drums, Addictive Drums etc). It’s awesome how if you use the logic drum kit the piano roll shows which key is kick, snare etc, I only wish when I use third party midi plugins I could do the same! Any thoughts?
@Eduaro2U2 жыл бұрын
A question:- Why is drummer out of time with the click? All regular MIDI entered sounds (drums or otherwise) are spot on (literally) - whereas Drummer is way behind the beat. Ideas?
@andyjgrace24613 жыл бұрын
I love this! It’s been very helpful. I have got a problem at the moment though with one song I’m working on. For some reason I lost the ability to edit the drum regions, part way through writing the track. When I open a region and click on the scissors the edit screen comes up but completely blacked out. The track is not locked, ie the padlock symbol is open. I tried converting it to a midi file and then converting it back, but all the timing was out and changes to parameters I’d made had changed. I reverted to a saved file rather than spend hours re-writing the track region by region. So I still can’t edit the drums in this song.
@davidpurple36984 жыл бұрын
-and you can split the midi into separate tracks :-)

I will make a Drummer pattern etc but whenever I go & cut it, ie, shorten it, the rhythm changes? There must be a button I'm not pressing before I cut the Drummer pattern? Anyone know what I mean please
@FuzzekeTrailerMusic4 жыл бұрын
Yeah I’ve had that problem for ages! But how I figured it out was 1. Make your drum pattern 2. bounce to audio 3. Trim and cut (the audio file of course) Have a nice day Andrew!

@@FuzzekeTrailerMusic Cheers! Yeah, I'd figured that out as a work around but surely there's something we're missing here.... a button someplace?

Andrew Austin I’ve found that if you cut a Drummer region and “fills” is set to anything other than zero, a fill is add to the end of the snipped region, as if it needs to conclude the phrase. Try setting “fills” to zero, snip away, then add fills separately. I hope this helps.

Always set your fills after you’ve set the length of the region.

I find that in Drummer, I can have the Kick and the Snare both selected, but I can't select Hi Hat, Toms and Cymbals all at once. In other words, if I have the Hi Hat slected, the Toms don't play and the Cymbals don't play. Is there a fix for this?
@flirtwithdanger_les4 жыл бұрын
Only way I can think of is to create a 2nd drummer track
@TyRobertsmedia4 жыл бұрын
The reason: Drummers only have two arms. Notice in the piano roll when there's a fill the hi-hat is gone because he/she is hitting toms. I used to go in and delete those little parts when finishing a song to make the drums sound more human, but Logic now does it for us!!!
@DonMadDonald4 жыл бұрын
can you have multi outputs with drummer? (like kick channel 1, snare channel 2 and so on)

Yes. In the library where the drum kits are, there's an option called Producer Kits. It consolidates all the elements in a track stack and you can isolate Kick, Snare, etc.
