Metallica's James Hetfield has said that Judas Priest is everything we wanted to be as a band starting out. If someone asked you to define what heavy metal is, that's one of the bands you'd show them.

They are the Metal Gods, after all. ;-)

I was asked by a butt hurt bon jovi fan what I think real heavy metal was ( sure as fuck not bon jovi) and I said Judas priest and iron maiden. Both made metal what it was!!

This was the best METAL there was before Kill `EM ALL! You can listen to this whole album and then want to hear it again; fucking awesome!

Congratulations !!!... Your interest in Heavy Metal has brought you to the Metal God's. Rob Halfords, Glenn Tipton, KK Downing, Ian HILL , and Dave Holland. Blistered the music seen from 1979 to 199o. When they came to Chicago, they were on fire and let there live performance show it every time they were on stage. Wish you could of been there. But in a way you were if your ears enjoyed the music from the God's. Be careful though there high intensity is very addiictive, lol. Especially their live recording's. Thanks for keeping metal alive. Rock on.

Hey Journey, i just loved your reaction to Priest they are the metal Gods hands down. I got such a kick out of watching you vibrate to this song cause that's how i was when i first heard this album. You should definitely do a journey through Priest. Maybe try Painkiller it'll melt your face off
@paulm.59794 жыл бұрын
Nice, loved your reaction! These are the metal gods- Rob Halford the lead singer is amazing. They put metal on the map in the US. 18 albums of metal bliss. Please check out Painkiller (insane Drums) , Beyond the Realms of Death, US festival- 83 Victim of Changes, Sentinel live - Fuel for Life- just to start you off.

Check out Dissident Aggressor and then sit back and realize that song was made in 1977... heaviest thing I heard from that era. It is almost proto-thrash. Slayer even covered it... they couldn't pull off the high vocals, so they did those parts with guitar instead. heh Judas Priest are metal gods for a reason.

If you’re looking for more drumming, Starbreaker from their live album Unleashed in the East has a great drum solo. I’d rec Saints in Hell from the Stained Class album too.

Stained Class was all Simon Phillips on drums. The most technical drummer they ever had.

I grew up on this stuff... Play the next cut after Screaming... "You've Got Another Thing Comin' ". It' s one of their biggest hits, if not their biggest. You won't be disappointed. Also, "The Hellion (intro) & "Electric Eye" (song)... talks about surveillance & cameras watching our every move. Waaayy before its time.

This song have among the most effective dynamics ever . It have traps . Its not the easiest song to play . As Priest was since 1977 Its pre thrash song but it have that funky space body at the same time .

Welcome to the Priest Side of the Music. Listen to that whole album, listen to all of the earlier albums, then look forward to Defenders of the Faith album. From Rocka Rolla to Defenders was Priest's greatest stuff. Painkiller, while good, was not their best. From Victim of Changes, The Ripper, Dreamer Deceiver, Dissident Aggressor (Halestorm cover is great), Beyond the Realms of Death, to Before the Dawn and then listen to Defenders/The Sentinel. Priest defined Heavy Metal...and it was good music.
@chrisskiba88423 жыл бұрын
Dude open your metal mind and listen to this whole album!!!! Every song is kick ass! Also listen to the album 1 before this 1980 album (british steel!) Black sabbath is quoted as the first metal band ! But in the 1980'"s judas priest was the heaviest noise you could listen to ! They are the first band back when this album came out ! In 1982 I was 15 years old that I heard the term (Heavy metal) used talking about judas priest! From england! The U,S.A music market was made for them! They were way more popular here than in the U.K. great brittan ! Watch some documentary's about them on you tube!!!!👌

Ok so first of all that " guitar solo" wasn't a solo at all. It's a duel. Secondly I'm giving it thumbs down because of constant interruptions!! If I wanted to hear the guest being interrupted I'd turn on fox news and listen to Sean Hannity
