You should listen to Snarky Puppy’s “Lingus “. It’s an absolute keyboard and drum clinic put on by Corey Henry and Larnell Lewis. I promise you’ll love it!

Adore Snarky Puppy. Best ever. Only managed to see one live concert this last year, but it was Snarky Puppy. Mind blowing.

The best talented ensemble of instrumental bliss ever heard by me....they have been very quiet since Sean passed. Al, together for many many years. Death in the family for sure. And the bad assed drummer Larnell Lewis. Can memorize new songs on plane flights in under 9 hrs and then come to perform it 100% correct. More Snarky puppy. Some Asaf Avidian " 900 days" is a great start. This dude is so talented. Musical wizard..

Thanks for the reaction. These guys always cheer me up. Really saddened by Shaun’s loss, but his legacy remains. Recommend Lingus, Shofukan and Outlier from this album. Lingus is the most popular due to possibly the greatest keyboard solo in history, but they are all great.

Nice review. That phrase is actually in 4/4. It's just 16ths with a 16th rest in between, so it gets offset by that much after each 3 note grouping.

I know this is going to he long. The reason is this is a special musician and I wanted to explain why. I would love to see you react to Taj Farrant. I started watching his videos around 4 yrs ago and was amazed at his guitar skills. He was definitely a prodigy. Taj moved with his family from Australia to the US a year ago to pursue his career. His parents sold their homes and their businesses to support his dreams. Taj released his first album Chapter One recently and it was #1 worldwide on iTunes blues charts. Taj is touring the US and doing some big blues festivals. He recently opened for Buddy Guy. 88 yr old blues great Buddy Guy was very impressed when he played with Taj and he said ain't seen anyone play shit like that in a long time! Many people say he's Stevie Ray Vaughn reincarnated or he hung out with him and Gary Moore and Jimi Hendrix and was taught by the best and brought it with him to share with us. I don't know. What I do know is I caught a couple of Taj's shows in Phoenix and even now I have a hard time telling anyone how great he is to watch play live. You know he's feeling every note and sharing it with us. Taj, his backing band Nathan Bryce and Loaded Dice, his publicist and parents are the nicest people and so down to earth. Nathan Bryce and Loaded Dice are also the opening band and play their own music before Taj's show Taj is an independent artist. He didn't sign with a label so he could have full control of his music. All publicity has been thru social media and word of mouth. He recently was the guest performer at the 40th anniversary celebration for Prince and the release of Purple Rain. Taj opened for Morris Day and Prince's band NPG. He came out later and played Purple Rain with NPG. Morris Hayes, the music director for NPG played keys on Taj's song Mumma Raised a Man on his album. Taj also played at Paisley Park the next day. There was a member of NPG at one of the shows in Phoenix. Taj has also performed with Rob Thomas, Orianthi, been on The Ellen Degeneres show and Australia Got Talent, Carlos Santana, practiced with Kiss, Christone Kingfish Ingram and Eric Gales and he's 15. His audience is filled with people age 30-70. He's amazing and you don't think about his age. He's a phenomenal guitar player who gets even better with every performance. It's crazy to think how good he's going to be. Taj's songs are really good on the album. I'm going to suggest however a couple of classic covers. One is an instrumental and the other he's singing. Taj has such a large volume of videos on KZbin but let's start with these. Gary Moore's Parisienne Walkways kzbin.info/www/bejne/r5LJiK2Pm7enoJIsi=5s5xkMTOx2I8wz1X The Sky is Crying kzbin.info/www/bejne/j5mvc6Rvmqd8apIsi=Ny1SFQbDWU6ogAlT Taj has a 13 yr old sister Jazel who played the drums but is concentrating on the piano and singing. She has a single What About Me. Taj helped produce the song. I understand he's building a recording studio on the property he bought so he can record his next album there. His dad was telling us it's half written.

not only did Larnell learn it in a day - it was on a ~7hr flight across the atlantic from US to UK. Got off the plane and straight to the studio. Check out Lingus - which the band could not vibe with as a group until Larnell arrived and played THAT his first attempt. and OMG, the Cory Henry solo is life changing.

Just across this channel - great vibes! I can't be the first person to wonder if this is an alternate timeline where Victor Matfield is a drummer? Because now I want to play bass with Victor Matfield laying it down...

All this high-level musicianship... is *still* wasted on jazz fusion. Thousands upon thousands of elite musicians generating decades and decades of unlistenable music. They'll never learn 😂
