We are here in South Carolina, blessed that we're one of the growing number that have power again. Power allows me to enjoy Who Wednesday. Praying for the hundreds, mainly in NC, that are still missing, and the tens of thousands without water, power, roads, homes etc. Not meaning to be a drag here...Thanks for brightening the day a bit!

I’m glad my silly reaction video can bring comfort in such a tumultuous time. I’m glad you are ok. I will keep everyone and yourself in my thoughts. I know we will get through it together.

I live in South Texas under the threat of hurricanes every season and have been extremely lucky for the last 20 years even though Ike and Harvey hit pretty bad. I am so happy to hear that you are well , finally have power. I was devastated at all the horrible destruction of Helene. We absolutely have to brighten our day with any type of goodness that we can. Music is it for me also.

In the "Documentary" The Kids are Alright (1978), filmed before Keith died, there is a sequence, where John collects a few gold records, goes outside his mansion with a guitar case, too. "Success Story" plays. When John is outside, he reveals a Tommy Gun from his guitar case -and he shoots up the Gold Records, like in a skeet-shoot. Entwistle - only one!!

That's a great clip. It also shows John's massive collection of bass guitars, hanging everywhere in the mansion.

Excellent composition by John on this album. On the following albums, John continues to write excellent songs: two on "Who are you", two on "Face dances", three on "It's hard" without forgetting those from before that are little known like: "Postcard" or "when I was a boy". We must not forget a more than remarkable solo career.

We couldn’t get a lot of the music unless we had money because we had no streaming, YT, or internet. So you can be very grateful that we have all these things now, so you can go back and enjoy all this music. I absolutely am happy with all the technology we have. All of this has helped me love all the music so much more.

I truly love the "By Numbers" album, "Imagine A Man", and John's "Success Story" is great, and sums up the theme of the album.

MORE OX!!!! It's rare to see anyone react to the Who songs he wrote, and I've never seen anyone react to his solo work.

Most of the songs on this album are reasonably short. Quite often too short. How great is "Success Story". Actually both songs. I've said it before Lee, but there is nothing remotely close to a weak song on this album. And in my opinion, side 2 is even better than side 1. Some of my favourite Who songs are coming up. Great stuff again Lee.

Hope all you have a great day. No matter was happens, remember the ancient Proverb χαλεπὰ τὰ καλά (Calepa Ta Kala) -- What is worthwhile is difficult (Or naught without labor) This has nothing to do with these songs but I may not be on the entire three hours, so I wanted to put it out there early.

Who by Numbers, is a very "personal" as they were not doing Rock Opera' yet in a crisis time, all in their 30's, and telling their issues -a brilliant set of music!

Mid life crisis set to music from one of the best bands of all time. You can’t beat that lol

@@L33Reacts When I had my mid-life crisis at age 45, both Hip/femur joints replaced with alloy, 6 months apart, with surgery, my parents who were Doctor and Nurse, bought me a Walker, that was red -I laughed when they gave it to me! Why? Because the thing of a Man buying a red sport-car, at mid-life, and I got a red assisted walk device. :) Yeah, didn't live the life of a Rocker -yet music can link one to emotion, and you know others have been through some pain and emotion! My surgeries were 2014-15, and I did not take Opiod meds. Within the next year, both Prince and Tom Petty died, also after or before Hip-replacement, due to Opiod meds - both deaths affected me!!!

There’s a version of Roger singing "Imagine a Man" at Carnegie Hall with the Juilliard Orchestra. There’s a video of it on KZbin with excellent sound quality, but the song title’s missing from the video’s title. Watching the clip now for the first time in-forever, Roger looks amazing at 50, and the orchestrations by Michael Kamen are perfect.

I absolutely love both of these songs. They shot a sort of proto music video for Success Story for inclusion in The Kids Are Alright documentary, I won't give any spoilers but it is an absolute must see for a Who and Entwistle fan. I liked the Chris Squire comparison, on Success Story John is using an 8 string bass on some parts of it, Chris Squire used an 8 string bass later on some of the early 80's Yes stuff.

Def liked the second song better. Sounded a little more like it was from the Who’s Next, Tommy and Quad era. Thanks Lee.

The "Imagine a man..." line and melody is basically a rework of "The Dirty Jobs" off of 'Quadrophenia'. "Success Story" is another great John song, similar to "My Wife" in style. But IMO this entire album is a bit "Who on autopilot", trying to stay relevant but being pulled in different directions, mainly with Roger being lured toward film work and the others toward... a bottle. Pete eventually crawled out of his, but sadly Keith (and later John) would succumb to their respective poisons.
