His music is all still there. I say if you are true fan you should support the band and what they choose to do not what you wish it would be. That just makes you a snob

@@kenwilmarth68 dumb. You do realize Chester was not a founding member of the band, and he left sadly and suddenly, leaving behind the wreckage for everyone else to do with. Emily credits Linkin Park and Chester for inspiring her to sing and start a band of her own from the get go. She can sing most of their songs. So it's only natural that she has developed to sound like Chester. She was destined for this role!

Not sure if you’ve ever come across Emily’s band ‘Dead Sara’ but like a lot of LP fans I’ve been going through near everything from them and she is a special talent. I think she’s done an incredible job with the old songs, but I’m looking forward to the album and seeing her perform a set with more songs designed for her. Also their new drummer Colin, is crazy talented.

It messes with some peoples ears/head because it "Sounds" like Linkin Park, but its a woman's voice instead of Chester, but it sounds like Linkin Park and she Fits soo well. Funny story about this song is Mike wrote it and made a full demo of just him singing the whole thing..and brought it to the guys to mess with..then emily joined the "Get togethers" and they had her sing the second verse and the song just came alive. at least thats what Mike said in an interview. So the song was written and arranged pretty much without her input..its where she kinda joined the band..the rest of the album is gonna be stuff written and arranged with her input so how crazy is the album going to be.

Emily is an amazing musician in her own right. Doing this Linkin Park thing is actually a _narrow_ use of her vocal capabilities, compared to what she did in Dead Sara. If Emily gets lost in all of this, because she's trying so hard to conform to the expectations of Chester fans, it would make this song especially poignant: "Gave up who I am for who you wanted me to be." Online haters are the real emptiness machine.

These lyrics are insane and probably mean so many things to so many people. At it's surface "Gave up who I am for who you wanted me to be Don't know why I'm hopin' for what I won't receive" feel like Emily saying "I gave up my past to become Chester's replacement", but she knows that she can't replace Chester because nobody can, and that not everyone will accept this. The line "I only wanted to be part of something" makes me think that this is both Mike and Emily speaking their mind. Mike just wants to continue the legacy of Linkin Park, but he understands how hard it is without Chester. Emily wants to be part of the tribute to Chester that Linkin Park has become. The Emptiness Machine is the feeling we all have when we give up everything to be part of that something, but our hard work, love, tears, blood and sweat goes unappreciated because we aren't what the people want. This song is literally the evolution of their first hit single... ... because to quote Chester "We tried so hard, and got so far, but In the end, it doesn't even matter"

I think people are being too critical. The music is great and that’s all that matters. Like it sucks that Chester is gone and he was insanely talented and could never be replaced, but it feels like fans are holding the rest of the band hostage with Chester’s memory.

People aren't being too critical though, with her being a scientologist, her thoughts on mental health are nearly antithetical to Chester's. It is Linkin Park. Not throwing shade at you. But you just echoed what a lot of people have been saying about how it isn't real Linkin Park and yet it sounds so much like Linkin Park because it is still very much Linkin Park.
