Ok so where the hell have they been hiding Daydreaming?? My lord... that was fantastic. What an album. What a SECOND HALF. I mean seriously, they really did it all here in 6-7 songs. The entire album? Kinda ridiculous. They are growing too powerful... someone must stop them!! XD

Where to go from now on? Well, you still don't know her "Maiko" side, right? They have two videos on their official YT channel, Secret Maiko Lips and Gioncho. Miku's vocal part sounds more pop, or punk. Her low voice is kind of froggy and she can jump from the bass range to high range quickly. Miku's head voice in acoustic Sayonakidori is beautiful. You should definitely check out Christmas acoustic concert. I usually prefer Saiki's vocal as it suits the kind of music Band-Maid play, but Miku also has a equally powerful, gorgeous voice.

“World Domination” Band Maid’s “Back in Black.” Hit after hit after hit on a fresh sounding album with a brand new logo…kicking open brand new gate. One big difference is that, unlike the other rock band, the Maids brought so much versatility and variety that you can listen to the entire album without once being bored. I concede that they may never get widespread mainstream success. But not because of Band Maid. Widespread mainstream music is just too shallow and predictable. The antithesis of the Maids.

It is a CD I seem to play every day. It is such a great album. Such variation with the usual solo performances that we expect will just stand out. I gave up a long time ago at trying to find a best track or album because it really changes all the time. A band that is just so comforting to listen to because you just know you will never be disappointed.

Different was really a nice bonus 🙂 It's from a single "Different," so, you would probably climb to that one in a pretty distant future. By the way, the second track on that single is "Don't be long," my favourite instrumental from them. I think it's one of the best tunes Kanami ever composed. Damn, it's past midnight here, and I'm still exhausted after my yesterday's bicycle trip... But I had to watch your reaction, there was no option to postpone it. And I'm glad I did. BAND-MAID gives me so much energy-the same as to you, as I can see. So, you want to play drums again? That has happened already with so many people who abandoned their instruments. But when they heard BAND-MAID, they were inspired to pick them up again and found a new joy in it. Maybe you'll get a call soon from an American version of Miku, who will say that she has a band for you to join? And you'll form a fantastic band, and become billionaires? Nothing is impossible under the wings of Kuruppo...

Running I didn't do for a long time, but I guess my right knee would probably not be happy with it. But bicycling is OK, I can do pretty long excursions and in the end just feel tired, no damage is done.

Akane is one of the most versatile, melodic and creative drummers. You can't imagine when and how the change ups coming. It takes many takes for experienced drummers to nail her part, but any drummers who try to learn her part will become so much better a drummer. There are many drummers who can beat faster with just as many tricks as Akane but her style is something else. It's music in its own.😊 Wish you a happy new year.🎉

During the Covid shutdowns the Japanese government would subsidize artists making of videos, but they had to be over 6 minutes long. So Band-Maid did two double song videos. Dice/Different and Manners/Black Hole to qualify for the subsidy. Have a Merry Christmas!

I think for the next album there are 3 fun ways to go. 1. Conquer. This was them dipping their toes into the progressive rock world, and as per Band Maid, they kill it. Tons of good variety. 2. Acoustic Christmas. You enjoyed the acoustic you ran into, they did a whole acoustic set that’s great and mixes up some songs you already know. 3. Band Maiko. The April fools joke that proved so popular they made a whole EP out of it. Their alter egos are gorgeous and amazing.

@@L33Reacts The Xmas acoustic concert is insanely good. You won't find it on KZbin/Spotify/etc though - they only sell the CD to fanclub members and they never released the video on physical media.

They album proved that Kanami was the best rock guitarist when this came out. This album was really the culmination of everything that had gone before 2018. Followed by a sort of bridging album in Conqueror, before Covid in 2019. Then from the mists of Covid in 2021we get totally monstrous and brilliant Unseen World- not immediately every fan's fave, but now the genius is recognised. The rhythm section has the tallest members in the band- Misa 5'7" and Akane 5'6". All the others are between 5'1" and 5'4". And lastly, if you get this far- Different was a non album single in 2020 plus Don't Be Long and a shorter version of Different.

Daydreaming is arguably one of their best songs - lots of fans would put in their top 10 or whatever. IIRC Kanami spent a lot of time on it and it was the song she was most proud of for a long time. According to interviews, the music that would eventually become Different was first written in the World Domination days, making it an appropriate accidental bonus. And yeah, that performance was during COVID. Akane really is a ridiculously good drummer. I mean, all the girls are great, and I can certainly see why MISA and Kanami have their fans, but Akane's the one most likely to make me say "holy shit!" repeatedly.

lol @ 25:20 It's a single anyway, so here is as good a place as any. It sure is an amazing contrast in style though. They advanced a lot in that short few years. You might want to look up the original MUCC song. It's good, but much more raw. IMO, this version is a definite improvement.
