Welcome to Band-Maid! The best hard rock band I have heard in my 57 years on this planet. They don't stick to any one genre and often mix genres in songs. They are extremely diverse and have an extensive 10 year back catalogue featuring Punk, Pop-Punk, Hard-Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Prog, Blues, Jazz, Groove, Rap etc. From face melting 220 bpm punk-prog to ballads, instrumentals to acoustics they do it all. Band-Maid is one of my current favorite bands together with Hanabie. The thing I love about Band-Maid is that they take everything I love about hard rock/metal adjacent genres, and make it better. The bass lines are audible and interesting; the drums are inventive and melodic, the guitar riffs are intricate and they manage to make every goddamn solo special(!) and not generic wankery; the vocals are powerful and have beautiful harmonies. Then they are put together to form a fluid and purposeful song structure. Jarring is the last thing that you think when listening to Band-Maid. This is done for 100+ songs, no throwaways or fillers! I love Band-Maid.

You will find "I have a good feeling about this" will always be an understatement regarding these Japanese bands. I mentioned before that the Japanese all female metal/rock scene is the best in the world & has been for yrds. Band-Maid, Nemo[hila & Lovebites are all elite in their musicianship with Hanabie nipping at their heels. One thing I love about Band-Maid is how prominent the bass is on their songs. Misa is an elite bassist. Love Fami from Lovebites as well as Hariguchi-San from Nemophila, but Misa's bass tones are awesone. Keep going down the Japanese rabbit hole, it get's better & better. Now another all girl Japanese band is NEMOPHILA. They are punk metal although they have softer songs as well and they are renowned for their covers that are very popular.
