I have a 2009 ktm Duke 690 and it has a stock tuneable ecu, so I tuned it to make it pop and bang. I think I'll mod the airbox and then put the appropriate tune on

There's an optimal volume (space) for air intakes. Too big, problems. Too small, problems. When the piston drops and the intake valve opens, there needs to be enough air volume in the airbox to minimize the pressure drop in the intake. Too much pressure drop and you're running too high vacuum conditions (less air, and less fuel makes less power). But just like exhaust systems, there's an optimal size for proper scavenging. Intakes have to have an optimal size for the best airflow characteristics through the intake. Then comes emissions regulations spoiling all that hard work the manufacturer has done to figure things out.

Facts 2 much air will make it run richer and foul plugs faster. To lean to rich is bad for the engine. This guy dont know shit lol he thinks alot, do s Odom e research and buy quality parts

@@juliantoney6552 Too much air makes it run richer? Richness comes from fuel, not air. If the system OVERCOMPENSATES for the increased airflow, then there's a possibility of running rich and thereby fouling spark plugs. The reason opening up the exhaust and intake increases air flow, is because the manufacturer was forced to reduce the airflow for emissions. There's only so much flow a system can flow, outside forced induction.
