Looking forward to your review of them live. What's so impressive to me is how good they sound live, especially considering their writing style.

Imma say this again. Your drums reactions are SICK. As a drummer, this is exactly what I expect from reaction. Specially with Matt. I want someone that also understands his proficiency lvl and validates what I feel. He is so amazing and so are you dude. I watched your reactions on Matt dozens of times. Thank you

Hey man, been following your journey of AAL discovery. As a former DCI/WGI snare drummer, it's interesting to watch someone with marching background approach these kinds of songs; I was actually padding out with my Vic Firth Roger Carter's right before watching this, so 3:06 was funny to hear - I'm assuming you're alluding to his exercise Zero G (Weightless by AAL.) Most of their songs are rhythmically focused enough to create an accompanying drumline score. My personal favorite candidate is Cognitive Contortions from AAL's album 'The Madness of Many' (kzbin.info/www/bejne/aKOTqXuOfNiimMk) There're some fun metric modulations, like Triplets in 4/4 to Sixteenth Notes in 3/4, Triplets in 6/8 to Sixteenth notes in 4/4 (retains the initial ninelet pulse and aligns it with a 4/4 backbeat,) and then ends with a shit ton of time signature changes at the end. And of course, there's a drum playthrough with Matt, in case that was enough to pique your curiosity. I recently saw them live in Orlando and it was the best/craziest concert I've ever been to, so looking forward to hearing about your experience. Obviously it's more niche, but would be interesting to see you break down DCI/WGI material. Anyways, keep up the good work, man!

I just now saw this comment. Great to have more drumline people in the community. Yea man... this band is serious big brain stuff. I love it. The show was cool. Very very cool. I'll never stand in the middle front again tho. Lmao. Im too old for when it got rough lol lol. I likely need to do some dci stuff on here soon.

You've never heard the joy of motion before? That's a great album if you really want to get into these guys start there let that album sinking and then go to madness and then what you're listening to now will make much more sense but the joy of motion is easily the most psychologically audibly accessible
@Benedict-Seelemeyer-Lindsley Жыл бұрын
I can understand a lot of people started getting into them in the last year or 2 or a couple of years but Starting here is like Taking mass in your freshman year but calculus and then working you way backwards to geometry so if you want to start with you know The basics of matt, Don't start at the most complicated thing Go back to joy of motion and even you want to see some cool other work he's done, little 3 piece called gem, and songs torque and the other few,there's only like 4 songs but great

I'm sure you have tons of songs in your backlog, but here are, in my opinion, some of the greatest video game songs of all time: Dark Souls 3: Main Title Theme Xenoblade Chronicles (Definitive Edition, has remastered soundtrack): Main Title Theme Xenoblade Chronicles (Definitive Edition): You will know our names (has the best guitar solo I've ever heard) Xenoblade Chronicles (Definitive Edition): Mechanical Rhythm Even if you don't make a video on these, it's just music porn to listen to them.
