I opened for Behemoth at their first south african show. I crapped my pants when I was playing my set and saw Inferno staring at me from backstage. He is a rather large, intimidating man, but after watching this interview, I really wish I had plucked up the courage to go and say Hi to him. He was nodding his head and 'playing along' to our songs and my drumming, which is something I will never forget.

21:05 - 21:22 I almost cried at this part. Those crazy ideas and speed in The Apostasy, Demigod and Zos Kia Cvltvs is what made me fall in love with Behemoth. These albums were the albums that made me fall in love with death and black metal. Inferno is one of these extreme drummers that made me crazy about all that speed and creativity. It's sad to hear what Inferno says, but people change and do progress. This is what progress is for him and for the band, so I have to accept it. Another amaazing drummer that I've been into since 2002! I first heard "As Above, So Below" on some cable tv radio channel way back then, and the drum line immediately sold me. I was on board 100% with the music of Behemoth. I have bought every record since, and my love for Inferno's power and style has only grown! To hear him say that he is self taught absolutely blows me away! That's amazing! My absolute favorite Behemoth memory is seeing them in Detroit in 2018 headlining in support of "I Loved You At Your Darkest." I hadn't picked up the album yet and only heard two songs so far. When the band started "Bartzabel," it jumped straight to the top of my favorite Behemoth songs. Number one, based solely on that drumming. Absolutely incredible! Thanks so much for this great interview!

One great thing about him is he's constantly struggling to improve, he questions his own work, and still moves ahead and progress. And that while being the top drummer, yeah yeah i know George Kollias but Inferno has more creativity and emotion in his drum tracks IMHO, all the while breaking speed records, because why the fuck not, as he said they wanted to prove something. And that fact he's still humble about it all and still sees a way of progression is really great.

Wow, Inferno very much strikes me as an "Old Soul". Very calm, collected & gathered in his thoughts before he talks. I'm jealous because I'm the polar opposite & speak everything on my mind and hope my friends have the patience to pick out the important parts. Anyway, I can hear the wisdom in his speech & it sounds like they've been through a lot together as a band. Definitely a lot of personal growth over time. And you can hear it in "I loved you at your Darkest". I little slower, even more cerebral & introspective, and downright tasty. We're going to see great things from them for a long time to come, fate willing. Inferno's quiet, collected & almost shy disposition gives balance to the band. So glad you shared this interview. What a contrast to Nergal's big, brazen personality. I dig them both, but I'd probably be better friends with Inferno lol. Seeing them live twice in the past year was a real joy.

I'm a guitarist but love this guys work, he's so humble and yet such a monster of a player. I actually prefer his work in Azarath! \m/

Behemoth = awesome Metal compositions made even better by this guy's drumming. Every little bit, fills or parts he plays is so tastefully written. One of my favorite drummers

I get the idea of playing emotional instead of faster; and I like Behemoth that way; but I'll always remember Shemhamforash in the Evangelion tour as THE PEAK of their career. That intensity and anger was....

Was lucky enough to see Behemoth during the Demigod era opening for Morbid Angel in a tiny club in SF. They were so fucking powerful they blew everyone else off the stage.

I remember being in the 7th grade and listening to Slave Shall Serve (my first Behemoth song besides Conquer All) Absolutely amazing! Nothing but love and respect for the great Inferno!

I wish every drummer ive played with could think like he does. Keep your bandmates happy youll keep the crowd happy. Everyone plays better together. It IS all connected.

I met Behemoth at an Ozzfest in Phoenix maybe 10 or 12 years ago...Nergal and Inferno are super fucking awesome, albeit a little reserved at the time, but after seeing this it makes sense. Crushing it on stage when its 115 outside, then coming down onto the blacktop and signing autographs and talking to people. Definitely awesome to hear the big man talk about his methods! Great interview!
