Great video, some really nice examples of rolls. The technique you didn't include is the most difficult part. You start with a series of singles strokes. You call them "doubles' but actually you are striking the pad twice with 2 single strokes on each hand--then miraculously as you speed them up , they somehow become bouncing double strokes--how does that happen? Just as a suggestion for students having trouble with this transition (and perhaps you have covered this in another video that I have missed--if you have I apologize) Start the exercise with bouncing double strokes at a low volume short bounces close to the head (actually I don't recommend ever attacking the stroke with a high lifting range as you demonstrate up to your ear--very odd at any time) , allow the space between bounces to be wide at the start and gradually close the bounce. I don't think its ever a good idea to teach a bouncing double stroke roll by starting with double singles--because of the transition from singles to doubles--its not the same technique at all. Single rapid strokes can become 5 stoke ruffs (or 6's or 7's-whatever) but never a double rudiment. Also your idea of accenting the second bounce on a double stroke to smooth out the rolls is excellent, I teach all my students that technique and it helps. Always keep the stokes close to the pad, never raise your arm, never see the drumstick tips rise above 5 cm above pad even for loud dynamics. just an observation.

Thanks, when I am saying these absolutes it’s to point out that Ringo played the perfect parts for the song. His choices of groove and phrases were the best choices for the songs. That’s the point I’m making. I never closed any doors to conversation everyone has an opinion I’m just educating people on why I feel so strongly about Ringo playing and it shouldn’t be dismissed as bad or wrong weak whatever word you want to use. Thanks for commenting 😎🥁
