I worked for more than 2 years for Tui Netherlands customer support. To be honest, I must say that there were a lot of possibilities in helping people when they requested something. Having worked for different customer support services for different companies, you could be very creative in helping the customer. In other airlines I heard that when you called them, there were often problems in the beaurocracy that would fight you. With TUI Netherlands at least, I never experienced this a lot.

TUI's transatlantic charter offering to MLB (FL) USA from the UK is full service (meals, drinks and crappy ear buds, blanket), it's easily comparable to any scheduled economy transatlantic carrier. It's my preferred way to get across the pond to Florida as I can do it in one leg, no transfers through the hell that is LHR or CDG. Only drawback is that it only operates May-Oct but I've done a late booking including luggage for £300 pp outside of school holidays. They are what they are but no worse than BA economy.

Cape Verde is not classed as long haul which is why food is not included, you're lucky to get in flight entertainment as TUI used to use their 737s and 757s on this route, I think they still use 737s on some flights to Cape Verde, I think the runway has only fairly recently been lengthened to cope with lager aircraft. As for rowdy passengers, to be fair it's not really going to be a thing on Cape Verde flights as it's not that sort of destination, flights to Cancun and some of the Mediterranean party resorts can be a little noisy but TUI is more geared to families so the more rowdy people would probably use Easy Jet or Ryan Air.

Issue of Cape Verde is that in the previous times they cut and destroyed all the forests to get wood for selling and construction and navy, and replaced with nothing. Only 1 island now is really green, and it is like national park. Others are quite a desert, hot and not green at all. I was thinking to have a vacation there with family (and also it could be good material for my videos on the channel), but checked all carefully and found that this place is not attractive, even with good beaches, and the prices there are not so attractive as well. Unfortunately people made their own country-islands as it is. :(
@LuisNeloFonsecaMonteiroАй бұрын
Completely wrong! Cabo-verde never had forests, it was always a desert, with hard-working and humble people. for tourism it is not Mexico, Jamaica or Thailand but it is very comforting to go on holiday because the hospitality is one of the best in the world. Yes, I have already traveled with TUI on the Dreamliner from Birmingham to Sal in 2022.

@igoralves-B757xАй бұрын
This is complete and utter nonsense, Cape Verde was never a green country due to the fact that we barely see any rain throughout the year. The country is a result of volcanic eruptions, so the land by itself is very dry and the weather doesn't allow the formation of green forests (only in Santo Antão and São Nicolau islands we have some forests located in high terrain that benefit from the moisture accumulated). To say that the people there cut and destroyed all the forests is a complete misinformation and not true at all. By the way, the name Cape Verde (Cabo Verde in Portuguese) has nothing to do with green forests, the name was originally given by Portuguese sailors as a reference to a geographical location on the coast of Senegal (Cap Vért), a formation that was commonly seen by Portuguese sailors, before their actual arrival in the archipelago.
@bernardospinelli5588Ай бұрын
@@stanleovart this is completely wrong. Cabo Verde was named by the Portuguese after a cape in the coast of Senegal also called Cabo Verde, which was the geographical reference for the ships that navigated to those islands, who became known as the "Cabo Verde Islands". It has absolutely NOTHING to do with the fact that "verde" in Portuguese means "green". Cabo Verde islands are volcanic and very very dry, rain is extremely scarce, there is no permanent water source in any of the islands, thus there never had anything similar to what can be called forests.
