Nothing wrong with asking people for money. It’s perfectly legal to ask someone for money. Panhandlers do it all the time and I’ve seen people on the side of the road holding up a sign asking motorists for money. Nothing strange about asking people for money for the growth of your company. It’s better than working the usual low paying labor job and getting no where for your hard work. That’s depressing…..and those jobs make you want to off yourself after each shift. That’s no way to live. I don’t blame the guy for trying to be his own boss. Who wants to work for someone else. That gets most people no where.

I trained with some Nigerian service men. At the age of 26 they had never had alcohol. A few pints and they were like this. They were veterans of a brutal war and were very amiable but not to be trifled with. My experience with British customs is that they were arrogant, informal and not wearing their uniforms correctly. I pointed this out to them and they apologised. I should point out that was only on one occasion at LHR. In all other instances they have been professional and efficient.

All you have to do when you are stopped by customs anywhere in the world is one simple thing - be polite and be honest and answer all of their questions. And you will be on your before you know it. They are not there to make your life miserable or cause you problems on purpose. They are just doing their job. Many people make mistake of thinking if they passed border control that it was all over and that all they have to do walk away not declaring anything. Border control is easy to pass. Customs is totally different story. These guys are psychologists and can locate rule breakers from 100 miles away literally.
