On June 12, 2022, a Monroe County deputy observed a speeding vehicle in Key Largo, FL. When he attempted a traffic stop, the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed driving recklessly through traffic. After several miles, the vehicle finally pulled over and the driver exited saying he was a police officer.

He knows that cops deal with a lot of shit, and if he's drinking and driving, it's not because he's reckless, but probably because he's struggling. Many first responders fall into alcoholism after seeing the shit that happens in the world. No excuse for his actions, but yeah, he is respecting his rights (the same as normal) and being careful to remind him that this will affect the rest of his life.

I've been arrested 8 times and every single officer that arrested me was polite and respectful. Some of the officers that arrested me would even have a conversation with me while I was handcuffed sitting in the back seat. Last time I got arrested for DUI on 5/14/23 I was arrested by California Highway Patrol (CHP) I was actually sitting in the front seat handcuffed. I forgot the reason I was sitting in the front seat I was hammered and I actually spit in his car because he arrested me and I was pissed. Anyway on the way to jail I mentioned that I have family that use to be cops and we just had a conversation while going to jail he was actually pretty cool. His cruiser was a dodge charger.

It really depends on the city, i got arrested for domestic violence charges in mesa AZ and the cops that did it didn't raise their voice once even when they had ARs aimed at my head when i was coming out of the house. The dude that took me to jail even asked if i was ok and we ended up getting in a conversation about fentanyl, i learned that day that a single pill in my state goes for around 75 cents to a dollar and that he usually busts people at least 3 times a week with it. Ive never met a douchbag cop in my city but ive seen them on channels like this typically in the midwest or southeast coast.

I know a cop who was let off for speeding so many times, then a highway patrol pulled him over going 90 in a 70 and he did not let the "I'm a cop" influence him in anyway, if you get caught with an infraction against you it's your job! I know I wouldn't have gotten the same treatment because I'm not a policeman. A 73 years old and I've been driving for 56 years and never injured anybody or cause an accident but I have almost been killed by a reckless driver. However, this was as close as you get to it didn't happen. I've been stopped once for not giving a lane change signal when I thought there was no one behind me ... and given a sobriety test but I wasn't drinking and I was told that I failed. I stopped drinking alcohol socially 50 years ago.

@One Man I disagree. He was told to be quiet a few times after his Miranda Rights were read. Cops don't do that with other people. They lull them into a false sense of security making them think that talking / being honest is in their best interest. Not faulting them for this - it helps them make their case. I mean hell the arresting officer even said he did something later in the video (when they arrived at processing) because he was a cop. It wasn't anything crazy but it's just another thing that proves this commenters point. And while these things are seemingly benign it shows us that cops are treated differently and for me makes me wonder what's happening that I can't see.

This should be used as a training video of what not to do on BOTH ENDS. The arresting cps entire demeanor and attitude changed once he found out that scumbag was a legit cop. Body Cams are making the world a safer place 100%. It's amazing how important they are.

Anyone else would have been ground in the dirt under 3-4 officers, tackled, tazed and then questioned extensively to try and obtain as much evidence as possible to ensure a conviction. Instead they tried their damnedest to keep him from talking so they wouldn’t obtain any more evidence on him

Hence why you can look up videos of ppl completing these tests “successfully” and still get arrested bc their behavior/movements indicates impairment between each test. They say over and over again “but I passed” which only proves my point

The whole point of the tests are for the police to build evidence. It’s up to your digression, but more than likely you won’t pass and they know that. It’s just to protocol.

If you are watching these kinds of video you would know that even law officers advise against taking field sobriety tests as they are totally at the discretion of the officer in charge .If he doesnt like you he can fail you and vice versa. The test is subjective therefore there is no set pass or fail. watch more police stop videos and you will come across the subject

Each police officer must set a proper example and must be held accountable for all actions. You pulling up a comparison with family/substance abuse is like comparing apples to peanut butter. There’s nothing that indicated this drunk cop was a black sheep. In fact, he had such a crapload of expensive work equipment and a work vehicle himself. He doesn’t come across as one who’s always getting picked on (your reference to black sheep). Stop reading into things and your life will be calmer.
