On April 10, 2023, officers pulled over a female driver who had violated her probation rules in Portage, WI. As the interaction unfolded, her behavior escalated. She refused to leave her vehicle when asked and intentionally reversed, ramming into the police car. Following a pursuit covering several miles with multiple agencies, she eventually pulled over and surrendered herself.
Our featured content aims to depict law enforcement interactions, emphasizing education over public shaming or ridicule. In a world filled with misleading conversations about law enforcement, it's crucial to present these interactions within their contexts to inform and educate the public.

Unless the suspect ultimately pleas innocent against his attorneys plea deal.

Judges don’t make the laws, they uphold them. We the people are the ones who need to pressure the politicians that make the laws. Jail overcrowding leads to plea deals leads to how people like her get probation. This woman was never going plead not guilty and have a jury trial. She pleads guilty, in exchange for a lighter sentence. I think she should have jail time too. Just like I think drunk drivers should have greater penalties as well. Cops like this guy who could have been seriously injured must get frustrated too. 28 people a day lose their lives to drunk driving incidents yet we see time and again the drunks get right back in their car and drive drunk. Drives me crazy.

Yeah in my country, prosecutors almost never give plea deals. I understand that many jurisdictions have a large caseload but a big reason they have so many cases is that the people they drop charges on reoffend, so they have more cases. It's a bad cycle. My country (Austria) doesn't have much crime but it's crazy to see that European prosecutors typically pursue cases harder than in the U.S. If the U.S. wants crime rates as low as Europe, they're going in the opposite direction. For such a rich country, it's disappointing that the U.S. justice system operates like this.

I agree. Cops need to stop casing ppl and causing potential harm over someone being with someone. It’s pretty petty. They cause ppl to fear for their safety, causing an adrenaline spike, and they charge us for responding naturally to our emotions. She was just sitting in her car, and no causing any problems whatsoever. But cops escalate things into violence all the time.

If they're grown adults and the only reason a no contact order was put in is because they're co-defendants is asinine! That seems to be the case. And for somebody to be so petty to call the cops on that reason is also asinine
