Lucas with the Lid Off Aussie sound ? It’s a HUGE Brian Jonestown rip off. The riffs, the vocals sound very much like Anton. Nothing original here

@@Johnhealey- ? Yeah Brian Jonestown, major punk band they aren't.

Honestly they give me early Oasis meets Beck vibes with a bit of David bowie and Blur mixed in. Epic Stuff!! Australia is churning great music out at the minute!!

@@ashhodson2063I’ve been a life long Blur and Oasis fan and I’m lucky to be old enough to see them both live and they sound nothing like these. At a stretch the melody has a similar sound to ‘Fucking with my head’ by Beck in parts. But to comparing these to Bowie is lunacy.

@Tullleyy You mentioned the Chats (just 19 hours ago on a video 4 years old? Must be going to see Drunk Mums perform tonight like I'm planning too!), their songs 'Smoko', 'Pub Feed' and 'Identity Theft' are quickly becoming Australian classics, with 'Smoko' already firmly cemented. Australia has been waving the fuzzy garage rock flag loud and proud last few years and I'll list a few Aussie bands who you should look into if you like this song. Firstly I'd recommend the band The Murlocs, they've got plenty of fun garage rock songs like 'What if?', 'Bogan Grove', 'Rolling on', 'Noble Soldier', 'Snake in the Grass' and 'Comfort Zone'. The Murlocs share some members with the rock band King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard who masterfully hop between genres. You might like King Gizzard's songs 'Billabong Valley' and 'People Vultures', but they're the kind of band who dabble in every genre of rock there is, from folk to thrash metal (fun fact, they have two drummers!). DZ Deathrays are a bit more skater punk but songs like 'Gina Works at Hearts' and 'Like People' are great fun rock songs. Violent Soho have some great anthemic punk songs that are incredible live like the iconic 'Covered in Chrome', 'Like Soda' and 'Muscle Junkie'. They're incredible live, and even if you never heard a song by them before you'll be singing along by the second chorus due to their catchy and energetic vocals. The Love Junkies songs 'I Had a Party Once', 'Maybelene' and 'Black Sheep Blues' are fun. Ballpark Music are more indie rock but their song 'Nihilist Party Anthem' is a jam. Waax and their songs 'Labrador' and 'Same Same' are great expressive rock songs. Amyl and the Sniffers are punk rock with heavy emphasis on 'punk'. Give their songs 'Cup of Destiny' and 'Some Mutts Can't Be Muzzled' a go. Ruby Fields has a couple of nice fun songs like 'Trouble' and 'Ritalin' that are reminiscent of this. Courtney Barnett's a fantastic performer who can go heavy, solemn, or light and fun. Start with songs like 'Nameless, Faceless', 'Pedestrian at Best', 'I'm not your Mother, I'm not your Bitch' and 'Elevator Operator' to get a sense of what she is. The Dune Rats are like the biggest stoner band going atm, their songs 'Red Light Green Light' and 'Bullshit' and 'Scott Green' are fun house party surfer stoner rock. Another surfer stoner rock band is Skegss, listen to 'Up In The Clouds' and 'L.S.D'. Moaning Lisa and their song 'Carrie' is an alt rock lesbian power anthem. Tropical Fuck Storm might be a biiiiiit too far off and a little too alt/avant garde but give their song 'Braindrops' a listen if you want what I can only call hypnotic Aussie slam poetry punk rock. Psychadelic Porn Crumpets have some twangy off the wall songs like 'Social Candy' and 'Bill's Mandolin' Probably don't need to even mention them, but Tame Impala and songs like 'Lucidity' and 'Elephant' fit the bill. Baked Beans song 'Slow' is perhaps a bit more synth-y than this, but still gets the job done. Magic Bones and their song 'Danger I Am' is a great little fast and rough rock song. Cosmic Psychos 'Fuckwit City' is really Australian as you can tell from the name. Also the main singer has a gut that is a glorious sight to behold. Stonefield is a band made of sisters that make songs that sound like they're from a 70s British horror movie, like listen to 'Far From Earth' or 'Delusion' and tell me that doesn't conjure up images of castles and gargoyles. ORB is a lot more psychadelic rock but songs like 'You Are Right' have that same stripped back flavour. Harts is a fella who was being mentored by Prince before he passed. He is a great instrumentalist and his guitar is very classic rock. 'Red & Blue' or 'Power' are good starting points. Tired Lion is a fun garage rock band, give 'I Don't Think You Like Me' and 'Suck' a go. Unrelated, but it's clear 'fun' is the overwhelming theme here. There's a band called The Artfuls that I only of from one song called 'All Over Town', but that song is such a great tune. It's a shame that they were undiscovered. In a similar vain there's Doctopus who have one silly surf rock song called 'Wobbegong' that just makes me happy as fuck. You can tell the singer is really passionate (or drunk) in expressing his desire to live underwater lol. All the above bands are Australian and worth listening to if you love rock in all its forms. I'm gonna quickly list some obscure international acts that also scratch that fuzzy garage rock itch (I assume you know of bands like The White Stripes, The Black Keys, Nirvana, Mac De Marco, etc.) but since I've spent like 20 mins on this post I won't go into details, just know if you like this song it's very good chance you'll like some of these... Dusty Mush - 'Space Cat'. Kaviar Special - 'Highway' and 'Starving'. Thee Oh Sees - 'The Dream'. Ty Segall - 'Break A Guitar', 'The Man Man', 'Californian Hills', 'Taste', 'Where Your Head Goes' (Ty is a must listen for fans of fuzzy guitars). Goat Girl - 'Country Sleaze' and 'Cracker Drool'. Spring King - 'Who Are You?'. Fidlar - 'Can't You See?', 'By Myself', '40 Oz on repeat', 'Cocaine'. Jamie T - 'Zombie'. I can't believe I spent an hour on this and just realised this comment is 2 years old and the song is 4 years old haha. Oh well, maybe it'll come in handy for someone!
