The Drury Hotel used to be a mental hospital and then a regular hospital. My friend who lives in Santa Fe told me that a lot of people hear the sounds of faint guitars playing at 3 in the morning and of seeing children in old fashioned clothing wandering in the hallways.

Love your videos! Have you been to the Murray Hotel in Silver City, NM? We had some weird experiences there!
@StanJanParanormal2 жыл бұрын
Wow! Thanks for the show of support..wish everyone else felt the same. We have not been to Silver City and the last time I was there was in 1972 while in high school and long before paranormal days. The father of a classmate made the two of us go down and gather railroad ties from the property of his father's grandmother. He wanted the ties for a gardening project at the home in Albuquerque. The ties had been left from the early 1900s by the railroad and were stacked six feet high and latticed. Under the final tie, we turned it over and found a rusted out .22 caliber Winchester that had been hidden under them. I always wonder what prompted that action. Maybe a little something paranormal started just prior to that rifle concealment. Unfortunately, Covid took a real bite out of our travel plans in the past couple of years, but I will look up the hotel you mentioned. If you want to share your experiences I am always willing to listen.

My mom worked there. She said that on her first day, the person next to her said to not worry when "he" turns off the lights. And that she will turn them back on. The lights had been turned off many times each and every day. The area she worked in over there was DUPER haunted or something like that. Rolling chair will move and lights will turn off and that would happen so often that most of the long term workers started to ignore it. My sister also has some trauma from the time she broke into the abandoned building. She still refuses to talk about it to this day

Interesting review. Did she work there when it was during the hospital days or the current hotel ownership? If it was at the now Drury, what floor was she working on?

Stan, another awesome video. Two questions for you, first what are you using for your DVR surveillance system? It looks small and compact. Easy to take on trips. Second, what video equipment are using for your walkabout in video? It looks as if you had it around your neck or maybe head, I noticed you using it at the front desk of the hotel and in the church with the staircase? Thanks!
@StanJanParanormal9 жыл бұрын
+Leslie Miller Hi, Leslie, thanks for leaving the comments on our videos. We have gone through five different DVR surveillance capture units in use and testing. Originally we used a 16 channel SWANN. It was a nightmare. Secondly, the main case that I built entirely into a large suitcase which we only use on very large area hunts (such as the Grand Canyon Caverns video) is a 16 channel Zmodo. I can't recall the model. It is several years old now, but functions Ok except that for some reason every hour each channel has a bout a ten second gap which records black apparently as the channel reboots to another sector of the hard drive. That could be a problem if that ten seconds happened to be right during your capture. Then we used a 16 channel generic one that I bought online Direct from China which recorded fuzzy, which I thought was the cameras until we swapped the DVR out. That unit does not even have a name on it anywhere that I can find and uses Apple Quick time for a compression ratio (probably why it is fuzzy). I am currently using a 8 channel Zmodo for my home surveillance and periodically it just quits recording and has to be reformatted. I replaced the hard drive and the same thing happens. If we used that on location it would be a nightmare and it won't be good if a crook breaks into my home either. All that having been said the one you see in this video is a 4 channel DVR that I bought from U.S.A. Security-one on EBay, made in Taiwan (not China), it has performed exceptional. So, to review (in our opinion): SWANN was terrible in performance and the instruction manual written in English /Chinese syntax was undecipherable. Both Zmodo units were unpredictable and I wouldn't buy another. Don't buy a DVR made in China, go for a Taiwan or Japan model. The best models use I-CATCH for remote monitoring, but are more pricey. A 4 channel will fit easily into a large suitcase, but remember you also have four cameras, cables, power supplies and perhaps EMF detectors to pack also. It takes two large suitcases to fly and TSA will go through the equipment case. I always check before leaving the airport to make sure nothing was pilfered. Second questions answer is that we use I-Kam to go into a hotel hot and not be noticed. People can not be copywrited, so you can video anyone you want to in any place that you have a legal right to be, but most people naturally shy away from a camcorder if pointed at them. That pertains to video only, audio is a separate issue. To record and present audio the first thing a court looks at is 'was their a reasonable expectation of privacy". Recording audio in any public place or where other people are around has no expectation of privacy; inside someone's home where it is just you and he....maybe so. So, be careful on that one. The problem with the I-Kam is that it takes a lot of training to learn no to constantly move your head, which you do naturally while walking so some of it can not be avoided. Also that particular .avi codec is not digested well by video rendering programs like Adobe or Creator which is why you see it as pillar boxed. I love the I-Kam, have several of them and use them all the time not only on a hunt but in other things. Last month I had an issue with an auto service store in working on my auto and wore them when I went down to talk to the manager about possible litigation. He didn't even notice I had them on. Great proof in case you have to go to court, which we resolved without that happening. The I-Kam is about $80 on EBay. If you buy one be sure to get the second generation that has only one button to activate the unit and get it in a generic color like black that does not attract attention to the unit itself. Hope this helps in your future hunts. .....Stan

What would you say was your most haunted investigation?
@StanJanParanormal4 жыл бұрын
That depends on whether you are asking about what we encountered or what we were able to capture for proof. There can be, and usually is, a huge distance between the two. Personally, I followed a guy down a hallway and watched him walk through a door at the Vendome in Prescott Arizona which is what turned me into a life time of endless pursuit of something I might not ever capture. I have no proof of that encounter due to lack of experience at the time. At the Imperial Hotel in Cripple Creek, Colorado, I awoke to the bathroom light on and the fan running (which is what woke me) and when I tried to capture it on video it abruptly went off as soon as I booted up the camera. Again...no proof, due to lack of experience and improper technique, and on that one I would have to add United Airlines which did not deliver our surveillance equipment on our flight. Certainly the La Fonda, which you watched, had the most amount of metered activity that was recorded, but no in room personal encounters. The Queen Mary in Long Beach, California has the only footage where the surveillance captured something that could not be identified by tech guys who looked at the surveillance, so that stands out as my best capture and also it was there that I got "nudged", the first time anything has ever made physical contact with me. Historical research wise the award would go to the Monte Vista in Flagstaff, Arizona where I believe I uncovered a century old homicide at the hands of law enforcement. And...as far as mere fun, I would say the Stanley in Estes Park, Colorado where on my birthday the bartender overserved me and Jan had to help me up the stairs to our room. That is the bar that gave Stephen King the idea for the bartender encounter in the movie "The Shining".

Another great video. Seems you and I enjoy historic hotels of the southwest. Haunted or not, I'm absolutely enamored by them. I've traveled all over Colorado and Arizona and always seek historic hotels in these places, particularly ones that are allegedly haunted. I plan on visiting the haunted hotel in Virgina City, NV soon and am also planning a road trip through New Mexico as well. Hopefully I"ll find some historic hotels with activity during my adventure.
@StanJanParanormal9 жыл бұрын
+Winston Thanks for the review. There is nothing like staying in a historic place. I have friends who always stay at some place like a Holiday Inn Express and afterwards if you ask them what it was like they have no stories except to say something about it being quiet or some negative thing about some left over hairs around the bathtub, while the places we stay at are absolutely unique to themselves; even without the sought out activity they are an experience. (The only exception to that of course is the Holiday Inn in San Antonio, Texas which is the converted county jail and in which dozens of inmates were hanged in) So, carry on with your hunting. You didn't say which place in Virginia City you want to stay. The Silver Queen was our first surveillance hunt, but I have learned a lot about the property since then so if you are going there, drop me a line.

Thanks for the upbeat review. Currently I believe I have about forty five reviews on this channel, some are older and not so well done, but we all learn as we go along. Also our equipment has changed dramatically over the 10 years we have been doing it and you will notice that also. We take great pains in reviewing the evidence and debunking probable false captures before others beat us to the punch. Subsequently we have a limited viewing audience but we also receive very limited negative feedback. Enjoy! If you have questions let me know and please share our site around the UK. Hope to get there someday.

I don't care if you even go to hotmail or something and make one up for a one time use. I just need a link to send you a link that is not posted public without your permission. In the meantime If you would identify your team members it would be helpful. I don't need names or stuff personal just how many were there and the breakdown of sexes so I can kind of guess as to how many different male voices and female voices that your investigators might have allowed to be recorded inadvertently. Good work on getting into Marian Hall as they would not allow us access to it. How did you accomplish that?
