How to Marcot Calamansi, Calamondin Air Layering

Marcotting or air layering a calamansi is a method of plant propagation to allow the trees take shorter time to fruit. Marcotted calamansi can bear fruit few weeks after it is being transplanted into the ground.
On this video, we show how to marcot a calamansi using a very easy technique.

After 5-6 weeks, a good root system should be visible and the marcot is then ready to be taken from the parent tree. This is best done by cutting halfway through and waiting two weeks before completing the cut.

You can use peat moss or coco peat or garden soil. Some types of garden solid are needed to be sterilized before using, especially those with animal manure.

Baka maluwag yong pagkatali at natuyo agad yong lupa na wala pang 30 days? Or baka yong sanga na pinili po ninyo ay subrang tanda na? Ito ang mga kadalasang dahilan kung baking failed ang pagmamacot: 1.) Masyadong matanda na yong sanga na minarcot. 2.) Hindi nakuskus o natanggal ang cambium layer ng sanga. 3.) Hindi maayos ang pagkabalot ng plastic o may butas ito kaya madaling natuyo ang lupa. 4.) Maluwag yong pagkatali ng kaya palanging gumagalaw yong marcoting medium na ginamit.
