The Golan Heights are no more "Israeli-occupied" than Berlin is "German-occupied". In 1967, Syria attacked Israel and lost. The way of the world is that if an attacking nation loses, it loses whatever territory that the victor takes over. It is unfair to call the Golan Heights anything but a part of Northern Israel. Also, this report is wrong inasmuch as most all Druze are loyal citizens and many serve in the Israeli army, many are officers.

@reuvenbrauner82228 күн бұрын
@@DommTom I do not understand your comment. Syria attacks Israel and loses. In order to protect its citizens and reduce future threats, Israel assumes control over the Heights and eventually declares this land as its own. What's the problem? Maybe you are unfamiliar with the terrain here, but the Golan Heights is a mountain range which overlooks lower lying land in Northern Israel. From their elevated position, the Syrians would attack Israelis down below shooting individuals, passing cars, buildings, etc. It was an impossible situation as the Israelis were sitting ducks. When Syria unprovokedly attacked Israel in 1967, they forfeited their rights to the Heights. Israelis can now live in peace in the North without this this threat. If you have not been to the Golan Heights, I encourage you to see for yourself and then you will understand.

@@DommTom The Golan Heights were originally part of the British Mandate for Palestine and the Holy Land.
