The Drain Weasel® is a fantastic drain cleaner - but it can be used for other clean-out jobs. We used it to clean out a wad of lint in our clothes dryer exhaust. What uses have YOU found?

We came across the Drain Weasel® when we had an AirBnB in our home. With lots of guests, we found that we had to service our drains regularly - hair was the main culprit. Usual drain cleaners and chemicals didn’t work very well, but the snaking the flexible shaft and mini-hooks of the Drain Weasel® down a tub or sink drain immediately pulled up a large clump of hair (YUCK!).
It wasn’t an appetizing experience, but the drain ran clear IMMEDIATELY.
Recently, I was being lazy and tried to clean the lint screen on our dryer - while the dryer was running. It didn’t turn out well. Half of the sheet of lint on the screen was ripped off and was sucked down the vent pipe and out to the exterior vent cover.
If we lived in a single-level home, this wouldn’t be a problem, but the vent is 2 stories up and I wanted the fastest and easiest method to retrieve that wad of lint that I could. To avoid using a heavy extension ladder, I decided to reach the clog from the inside. Attempts to reach up and grab the lint with my hand, tongs, and other various implements all were a “no-go.”
I remembered our trusty Drain Weasel® (we keep a few on hand), and snaked it up the vent - IMMEDIATE SUCCESS! I started dragging out pieces of lint, both old and new. The mini-hooks on the end of the flexible wand snagged up the lint while still making it easy to remove what was caught and go back for another load!
If you have found another great use for the Drain Weasel®, won’t you share it in the comments below? I hope so!
