After logs have been milled into lumber the lumber must be properly taken care of to make sure the quality does not deteriorate but more importantly the value is increased. Watch this, as well as, the other iGrow videos in the Urban Logging series for more information.

I'm guessing that was before homes were as climate controlled as they are now, so furniture wood was fine at 10% mc... 🤷‍♂️

Very nice video. However, how somebody can do any kind of engineering with units like 30 grains of water in one pound of air is beyond me. How a about one gramm of water in 1000 gramm of air, which would be a 1kg? Wait...far too easy.

Oh man, I’ve been using kiln dried and air dried wood for fine furniture applications for years... Im gonna have to call my clients and let them know the air dried stuff is gonna fall apart. Kiln drying is great to get your wood to 6-8 percent and killing the bugs and mildews etc, but by the time you’ve got it back in your shop and in a house for a while it’s gonna reach equilibrium with the environment it’s in... Kiln drying for interior furniture is a fairly recent invention in the scheme of things, seeing as we have examples of fine furniture from the 13th century and on...

if at all possible you dont want to lift and manhandle slabs of the size in this video. if you have a tractor or forklift take the time to position the operation so you can utilize your tools and not use your back to lift slabs of wood. ouch....
