Lo under fafnir for tribute was ruled illegal in ocg but has no word how we are ruling it cause it has a slightly different wording. Its really weird cause fafnir says "cards as monsters" and we know you are able to determine that the cards are machines versus fairies so it feels like these should be treated as full monsters cards when using fafnir eff meaning lo's effect should work for taking full tribute cost but who knows lmfao.

it’s not “as monsters” it’s “as monsters required for the ritual summon” so the cards being detached aren’t actually being tributed. by game mechanics, you’re detaching materials still because it isn’t saying “as tributes” and Lo specifically says it can be “used as the entire tribute.” if Fafnir had a parenthetical like (this is counted as a tribute for a ritual summon) i think we’d have a case for Lo’s condition to apply.

Correct Lol under Fafnir isn't considered a monster so you can't apply it's effects while attached as xyz material.
