Why do you have big gaps between wall boards and ceiling boards? Why not just butt them up tight to each other? I realize it might get crown molding but it just makes it look cleaner. To add, if you don’t have drywall off concrete floor. Moisture will wick up to the board causing moisture on board.
@andrewcarr24312 жыл бұрын
gaps are because of crown molding, no need to go tight and they do have a 1/2" offcut spacer to lift up the boards. that is how it is done there, other places hang it differently. The crown molding is made from the same gyproc material otherwise those gaps would be a fire hazard (in our area)

@DoubleDoubleWithOnions2 ай бұрын
I was wondering about that too. Plus I would hang the top piece first to slam it up against the ceiling. Maybe because they're upside down in Australia.
@Maxkil2 ай бұрын
hey mate, yeah in Australia these houses that have this gap always have a cornice going up. The cornice is made from the same materials as the drywall and stuck on with cornice cement. So essentially it is sealed up. Its fast and cheap. Is it better than other methods Im not sure

They’re probably putting crown up top (most likely) But you can tape and mud that and won’t even know there is a gap there.
@tplus30172 жыл бұрын
@@loganpowers6997 Yes taping and mudding would cover it, but if that was the case why not just butt joint the sheets beforehand. Crown molding does make sense though. Thanks.
