Amazon has some other tools worth looking at→ amzn.to/2wWhaXG
This is another way to apply mud to tape→ amzn.to/2f56CPj
If you are new to hanging drywall, I will show you many of the tools and materials Home Depot sells and what you will need. It's easy to take on a new project and buy many tools you don't need. I made this video to hopefully answer some questions you may not even know you had. Of course, you can also go into Home Depot and ask someone, but it's always nice to have some knowledge first. Besides, it's great to be able to peruse the Home Depot isles on youtube at 1am in your pj's.

This was the simplest yet most informative video I’ve seen so far while researching how to diy some drywall in my house. Although seeing those prices from 6 years ago is about to make me cry 😭😭

Great advice. I was looking for advice on transporting larger sheets in my small pickup and discovered that Home Depot delivers for dirt cheap!

Blood, Sweat, Sawdust I just had an "outdoor" delivery where they drop it in the driveway. Cost me about $75 I think. Delivery into the house was $100.

i like using the tray for the mud as you can add more water and sit it down easily. at the moment i am using a baking tray because they dont sell them in argentine and i had to make my own sanding pole which doesnt exist here either.

I know you mentioned a sanding block for doing the inside corners but wouldn't the corner trowel be more efficient?

You didn't mention the rasp. That's the single most important took for a new guy to get close joints
@Slinkysees

Nor did he mention the circle cutter. Working production I'd hate to be without my Circle Cutter, Knife or Rasp. I mean my screwgun is my baby, but out of the simple tools those are the most important on a job site. Well outside a tape, but most people have at least an old one laying around the house.

Thats a nice home depot. The sheetrock section at the one I went to 80% of this stuffs all out of stock. So I had to buy plastic taping knives and a plastic mud pan =/

use paper tape on your butt joints as plastic tape is prone to crack later on.

Just so you all know. A good taper who is reputable, can purchase all the material at half the price you can from a wholesaler. NOT the Home Depot . They can do it twice as fast, with zero dust. They use dustless sanders that cost over 1000.00 and usually are flawless. Wise up and pay a taper who does it full time, instead of being gouged for your material, taking for ever to get it done, and looking terrible. Any good tradesmen worth his salt does not touch the mud, so this proves how tough it can be doing for the first time. It really is separate from all other trades.

I agree. I would say they can do it 20x or 30x faster than a novice. And almost always better results.

I called a wholesale shop for the purple board. They were less than a dollar cheaper and couldn't deliver on a weekend when I needed it so went with Home Depot.

Brook Anderson I agree with everything you said except material being cheaper. At least here in Los Angeles the profesional wholesalers who I buy my stuff for all types of construction from concrete, roofing, siding, lumber, flooring ect. Are always a lil more expensive than homedepot.
@renaissancemen1

crunch9876 true. If possible I always support the local supply house. Mine is minimally cheaper. But, they load my truck. Which is nice.
